  1. Hawk said Asian pitchers have a funky motion again.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 05:10 PM) Fake account.Here's the real one: https://twitter.com/10tv
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 01:49 PM) David Holmberg making his 2nd career start tomorrow vs Cubs. Getting the call from the Reds for a doubleheader 26th man.He pitched poorly - 2.2 IP 7 H 5 ER 3 BB 1 SO 3 HR
  4. Wow Ortiz is slow.
  5. Hawkstradamus there. 7-3 Sox.
  6. How can Flowers be SO LATE on 89 mph?
  7. I'd imagine they're looking to trade De Aza and/or Viciedo to make room for Garcia, assuming they want him back in the majors. If there are no takers I would love a platoon, with Garcia taking over RF (maybe LF when Tank plays). I'm worried about him re-injuring himself though, and ruining his career. I suppose the Sox doctors know better than me, but still. One of the highlights of the next couple seasons for me is watching Garcia grow.
  8. New posters must post a thread with their outlandish trade propositions and unrealistic complete lineup and starting rotation overhauls. This is a good starting point for ideas.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) The hitting side of the equation was really tough, there were a solid dozen guys who could have made a case.That's the best kind of tough.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 02:30 PM) Nobody loves him.I don't anymore, but I did for that last half inning.
  11. I love you right now Tyler Flowers. That will change, though.
  12. WHAT'S NEXT FOR LEBRON, MELO AND LOVE?
  13. That was about 408 feet. Too bad its 411 at that part of center field.
  14. I wish that was in this universe
  15. No hitter for Clayton Kershaw!
  16. No hitter through 8
  17. There's the good/great defensive play you seem to need for a no-hitter.
  18. Error by Hanley Ramirez
  19. Clayton Kershaw has a perfect game through 6
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 12:56 PM) There is something disturbing to me, looking at the quotes in that article, when comparing Anderson to Ravelo items. Not because they are in the same sphere as prospects, but because of the reaction to certain things. When Capra talks about Ravelo, he talks doubles and power projection. Makes NO MENTION of the fact that he's consistently had the best plate discipline numbers of any prospect in the system this year and last. Anderson is talked up (rightly), and they go out of their way to talk about not wanting to "force" plate discipline with him. Anyone else see a pattern, or bias, here? Which happens to fall in line wth the tendency of the org across the board having so many hitters struggling with strikeouts? The juxtaposition of those quotes really highlights it. I think there's a strong hint here as to why we seemingly cannot develop hitting. We push lots of guys quickly through the minor league ranks and don't give them a chance to learn, and we apparently don't try to instill any patience at levels where developing it is key - its fine being aggressive with hittable pitches, but if you don't learn to lay off crap in the minors, you're certainly not going to be able to lay off the good pitcher's pitches you'll see in the majors. Hopefully hiring Steverson is a sign of the direction we're going to take with hitting in the future, because I don't think trading pitching (which we can develop) is going to get hitting is going to be sustainable.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 11:00 PM) After this beat down of a series, I wonder if he realizes this plan isn't going to work anymore.I'm guessing he and Wade will push hard for Carmelo. Bosh is probably the odd man out.
  22. Well, I turned this one on at the wrong time.
  23. I love watching guys like Kershaw pitch, even if it's against us. He's just strike 1 strike 2 all the time, and that curveball is a genuine wipeout pitch. Luckily we've got a guy like this of our own.
  24. That rundown was almost a disaster. Whew. 2 out.
