  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 01:21 PM) And I'll take the counter-opinion, that if you take Michael Turner, or hell even LT, and stick him behind an O-Line that performed as poorly as the Bears' did last season, then the results would be just as disappointing as the results that the Bears got with Benson. I doubt it, benson is very non impressive and I feel that fanneca will end up in chi town too.
  2. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 06:06 PM) Swisher was the main example of the book. Hopefully he didn't "get an edge" in the minors/majors. I'm still surprised Beane traded one of his last/main Moneyball player(s). Supposedly, Street and Chavez will be next. IMO no one is safe but I doubt chave is on the outs when his value is this low and beane has said street is young enough to stay and has been talking a long term deal with him.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) Out of those, I think the only one that fits my criteria of being a good 2nd string back who lites the world on fire once he moves teams as a FA. In other words, all the other guys I'm thinking of, guys like Lamont Jordan, Dominic Rhodes, etc., the good #2 guy...i'm just pointing out that when you take those guys out of the system where they're behind the same line that's opening gaping holes for LT, etc., they tend to not be the 5+ yard a carry guy you hoped you were getting, with Holmes as the notable exception. Jordan will be a FA next season and dom rhodes has played very well in his time with oakland when starting. It all depends if they are given a good shot to succeed and i think turner with you guys would be ideal. Thats just my opinion on it.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 09:16 AM) The top guys currently are commanding what, $1-$2 million to sign, while lower-tier guys who are still talented are in the $100k level. The kid we signed earlier this year we spent what, $250k on him, as a 16 year old. wow thats crazy, I have family in Latin America(Argentina,Mexico) and Ive asked them if they have seen any baseball scouts or anything and its always a no but still its very mind boggling a 16 year old could make 250 large. I just turned 20 and i'm jealous LOL
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 12:25 PM) Nothing more than a rumor at this point. Bibby is expected to make his debut tonight. so is ron they will both be coming off the bench tonight as will kevin martin. I think beno udrih is a pretty good PG too though.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 12:36 PM) When is the last time that there was a RB who was used as a successful #2 back who hit FA, was signed by some team for big money, and actually had success? I'm genuinely trying to remember. well ryan grant was a number five RB, tiki was a backup untill injury, priest holmes was a backup and chester taylor was who isnt bad.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 06:56 AM) I really hope Angelo isn't posting the stuff about signing Julius Jones. The guy sucks. We don't want him. He would actually be a downgrade with our RB situation. Turner would be a good guy to look at for you
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) They are both nice players lol, but they dont come close to the above mentioned ones. Have you seen many warriors, kings games? If so you would know how good of young players they are. John salmons is even turning into a good player. Has anyone here heard anything on the eddie curry or david lee to sac for mike bibby?
  9. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) Most people are going to be hearing of four players in the NBA "the most and as far as their positions and consistant game changer" for years. PG-Chris Paul (D-Will a close second) C-Dwight Howard (jury still out on Oden) SG/SF-Lebron James (Wade is there, but injuries are a b****) SF/PF-Kevin Durant (future is damn bright) Game changers. Well... they stick out the most in my mind. have you ever seen kevin martin or monta ellis? those two will be very good in a few years and are good now
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) Its official. Only 1 Junior, Vernon Gholston leaves OSU for the NFL. Defense should be loaded, especially with the defensive studs growing up behind the starters. Agreed, I hope my oakland team gets long.
  11. There is some good matchups this season however I dont want the chargers,LT,rivers to win another game.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) It's spelled Baron and he hardly played because he didn't show up in the first quarter and by the end of that the game was already over. I have a buddy who lives in SF and is becoming a Warriors fan (just moved from Chicago), and he and I both question when Wright is going to get some run. I know figuring out Don Nelson is like curing the common cold, but any idea if his PT will increase? The way the warriors score they can close the gap fast so their was no blowout in my opinion. I think he wanted to get the younger guys, bench PT due to the starters playing so many minutes as KNBR put it. I dont think wright gets a lot of PT because nelson isn't big on rookies. Marco should start getting some PT but hes a rook as well. My warriors will get Portland the next time around.
  13. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) Did you read the link...? If all that is true, I bet he'd take a job for free to get out of there. The subject is what the media has been saying Carrol possibly to ATL which will not happen IMO.
  14. My warriors got beat up on by Portland today however barron hardly played
  15. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/allthingst...ights-from.html Interesting that Pete Carrol to ATL rumors come up the day this book reaches the media. There is no way Carrol takes a job like that unless its over 10 mil per year and full control.
  16. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) I just love the Beane love... he still hasn't managed to win it all. he will within the next five-nine seaosns
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) WTF is with you guys?
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 9, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) He looks good I have no problem with the white sox but my boy barry needs to stay in the bay area
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 11:46 PM) Culpepper did not look good from what I saw out of him this year. If the Eagles cut McNabb loose, that should be the top option at QB; otherwise, I'd take my chances on Rex or Orton. They could also trade for Losman and help relieve some of that burden from the Bills. Not that Losman is any good or anything. Losmen reminds me a less trigger shy rex, simms is the best out there in my opinion. Mcnabb wont be cut lose and I watched all the raiders games this season pepper isn't to bad. whats with the bonds sig?
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 08:47 PM) Whatever happened to Eric Chavez anyways. These last past couple of seasons he has seemingly been really poor after being such a good player to begin his career. chave has been hurt and hasn't really put in the time to become the best he can it seems.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) Are you the lone A's fan who actually LIKES the move to Fremont? Because just about every A's fan I have come into contact with in the Bay area HATES that move more than anything. No, I hate the damn move because the management is screwing the colseium and oakland untill they open cisco but if it maskes the A's better I'm going to have to roll with it. I go to the colesium all the time for raiders,A's games.
  22. everyone loses sometimes guys. The Majic lost to the kings tonight
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 8, 2008 -> 07:31 PM) Ah jesus, I like the fake screen name and profile, but NY guidos cant like USC and the A's as well. excuse me? whats fake about it? I'm an Italian,Agrentinan from the bay area who now lives in NY with family in NY as well. Nothing is fake about me sir.
  24. I dont think your going to get your hands on mcnabb and I think briggs is done with chi town. Culpepper wasnt at all too bad and I think hes better then rex. Chris simms however Is a good qb who could win you guys a lot of games.
