  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 28, 2011 -> 09:33 PM)
    So yeah, 30 mins in and Breaking Bad is bringing it.

    Loved the last scene. Next week is going to be awesome.

  2. Tigers Rotation--

    Scherzer- KC, Chi, Min, Oak, KC, Cle

    Fister- KC, Cle, Min, Oak, Bal, Cle

    Porcello- KC, Cle, Chi, Oak, Bal, Cle

    Turner- KC

    Verlander- Chi, Cle, Chi, Oak, Bal

    Penny- Chi, Min, Chi, KC, Bal

    Playoff Rotation- Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, Porcello

    They can't possibly play under .500 with that schedule.

  3. This week:

    Monday: Slowey-Buehrle

    Tuesday: Swarzak- Stewart

    Wednesday: Diamond- Peavy

    Friday: Danks - Verlander

    Saturday: Floyd - Penny

    Sunday: Buehrle - Scherzer

    Then Humber and Stewart will start the doubleheader in Minnesota on Labor Day. Peavy and Danks follow.

    Then...

    vs Cleveland-- Floyd, Buehrle, Humber, Peavy

    vs Detroit-- Danks, Floyd, Buehrle

    Not likely they're still in it, but with a month left, might as well still have some hope.

  4. Tigers are 1.5 out from the 2-seed.

    It seemed like the Yankees and Red Sox were playing to face Verlander twice in a 5-game series, but it still could be the AL West winner against the AL East winner.

    I'm rooting for a Tigers/Brewers World Series. Both are great baseball towns with fans that get it.

    Team record when each pitcher starts:

    Verlander: 20-8

    Sabathia: 19-9

    Beckett: 18-7

    Weaver: 18-9

    He hasn't been all that much more valuable to his team than other starters. He seems more valuable because of the rest of his team's struggles.

    It's one piece of the equation. You have team record, quality starts, innings pitched, ERA, WHIP, strikeouts, performance following a loss.

    I think if you take everything in consideration, Verlander runs away with the Cy, and is a legitimate MVP candidate.

    Not happening. Beckham will be fine.

    I used to say things like this, and now I don't know.

    What happened to him? This may deserve its own thread discussion.

  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 10:58 AM)
    Sure if you mean 63 wins for an entire season...

    If I knew the Sox were taking a step back for a year or two for the greater purpose of having a consistent farm system and ability to produce their own players for 2014-2020, I'd be ok with a 99-loss season.

    Nothing is worse than a mediocre to bad veteran team, and that's what we've been given the last few years. Enough is enough.

  8. I've always felt Peavy has hated playing for the Sox, and really I can't blame him now.

    He's a douche, but this organization sucks right now.

    So I hope he finishes strong next year or gets traded mid-season, and smell ya later.

  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 11:58 AM)
    Can we now change the thread title that the Sox did not claim Thome???

    Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal

    Sources: #Indians awarded claim on Thome, #WhiteSox awarded claim on Kubel. Thome has no-trade clause; preference is #Phillies.

    I would be shocked if Thome approved a trade to Cleveland.

    Kubel? Now? Why?

    Don't do it.
