Looks like Beckham threw a runner out at home on a 1st and 3rd steal situation.
Nix 2-3, 2 BB. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if he's in Arlington on Friday night.
-
Carlos Torres is the anti-Marquez. 6 innings, 1 run. ERA at 1.17.
-
Another 3-run homer for Phillips. 9-1 Charlotte, 5th inning.
-
3 run homer for Andy Phillips.

Here is his opening day interview. Nothing great.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 03:52 PM)Eh, I miss the conference call. I get why they're doing it but I prefer the old school approach where you can knock out the first few rounds in no time at all and move on with your day. The made for TV bulls*** does nothing for me, you don't need 5+ minutes to pick a player when you can't trade picks.
I agree 100%. Especially now that it's over 3 days...GMAFB. I'll care less this year than ever.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 02:58 PM)I hope that Selig, players and fans can be there.
Kind of like NFL or NBA.
Or like last year, when it was on ESPN.
-
I'm sure Betemit will start in Game 2.
-
QUOTE (aprec32 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 01:46 PM)Anyone know when the last time we swept a double header was?
Last September vs Detroit. Vazquez last win with the Sox. Wise grand slam in Game 2. How quickly we forget.

QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 10:11 AM)Yeah this is interesting. cant remember the last time they threw the games back to back with half-hour break.
Last September against Detroit.

Nunez with a 1-2-3 inning to finish it. Shelby made a nice running catch in the 9th.
Barons win 4-2, and move into first place with a 12-5 record.
-
Shelby on third, one out....Beckham pops out to the 1B on the first pitch. Ouch.
-
Jhonny Nunez gave up a couple 2-out hits, but got out of it. 4-2 Barons going to the 9th.
-
McCulloch...sounds like he's a real competitor on the mound, much like Broadway. Are they the same?
...and now McCulloch took one off the hand. They're checking him out. He's ok.
He's done...
7 innings, 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 k's
-
RBI double for Beckham. 4-2 Barons.
Flowers just missed a tape measure shot. Went foul....being disputed. Went too high and far to determine if it was fair. Man, is that guy strong.
-
I think once Beckham breaks through, he's never going to look back. It might be good for him in the long run if he slumps a little bit now.
Viciedo is 3-3. .238 never looked so good.
Winston-Salem won 9-2.
Shirek (3-0, 3.18 ERA)
Homers for Sanchez and Gallagher.

Tonight's tickets are no good for tomorrow. You have to exchange them for a different seat for a different game.
If you have tickets for tomorrow, you have two games for the price of one.

QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 06:18 PM)Jordanks up to .325
