  1. I know that this team relies mostly on the longball for production, but if we could just raise some of the batting averages, especially with RISP, I think with the pitching we have we could prevent some of these prolonged funks/losing streaks and make a sustained run at the division. Easier said than done though. I'm just sick of the highs and lows this team puts us through. The highs are so high (like yesterday's game), and the lows feel like rock bottom.
  2. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 12:22 PM) I can't remember a time in my life when the Sox had a consistent hitting team...but those 5 years of college i just finished erased most of the 90s from my memory however.... Only 4 1/2 here, but yeah, I feel you.
  3. I have this feeling that Danks is going to slug a HR on Friday.
  4. Quick question. I didn't get to see Jose's last two starts. Did he look bad against Colorado? Think he'll fare well against the Cubs. I hope Javy brings his A-game to Wrigley, not the crap he has strutted out there the last two outings.
  5. C'mon Oz, we're up 10 runs. Give Russell some work.
  6. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) I like the Yamamoto quote in the sig. Thanks dude, hopefully he was referring to the Sox offense
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:46 AM) Hopefully this swagger carries over to the rest of this series and into Wrigley. I am totally with you dude. I am hoping this is just a prelude to some of the havoc we wreak on the Northside of town this weekend.
  8. Lets not use up all of our allotted runs for this week today fellas.
  9. I'd bring in Russell for the 8th and 9th. At least for one of those innings. I don't know why Dotel was even in at all, I know he wants all the work he can get, but it just seemed unnecessary with a 5 run lead. However, Has Jenks gotten much work lately, I know he pitched in the win against the Rox, but I can't recall the last time before that? He hasn't had much work in the past two weeks, with blowout wins and then a losing streak. Am I wrong?
  10. I knew 'O Do-Tell" couldn't have himself a 1-2-3 inning. That'd be too boring for him.
  11. So glad to see some runs scored. I want this to last. But I'm not going to get my hopes up as high as I did after the last homestand.
  12. There we go Swish! Hopefully his luck is changing for the better.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) I really want to see CQ bust out of this slump. Lots of Ks lots of ugly pop outs. At least he is still drawing walks.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) What's Ozzie trying to prove by leaving Javy in the game? I really hope we start to cut down on the innings pitched to keep these guys fresh. I think Ozzie has a bet with Scioscia about who can use their pens less.
  15. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) Ozzie's main beef with BA is that he's just not that good. Right I forgot how great Wise is. My bad.
  16. Big inning here, I assume Javy will be back out there. We can't give up the lead we just gained. That has happened too often this season. He needs a short leash if he starts to falter.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:02 AM) This guy pitching looks like an idiot. And so does the guy batting. I was a little annoyed that we called up Wise. But I'm really annoyed he's starting over BA. What is Ozzie's beef with BA?
  18. Now we have two everyday players hitting over .300 (as long as Alexei remains an everyday player).
  19. Hopefully the Rays are about to blow their game wide open.
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3447973 Hope the Mets don't think this guy can actually take them to the promised land.
