QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) Looks like Lee Cruz is coming up to B'ham too. That means more players from B'ham are going up to Charlotte. I guess they're finally dumping the duds in Charlotte. If this is true we should never hear from Kyle McCulloch again. I love Buddy Bell.

Wow, someone must have pointed out how weird it was for Stoney and Hawk to sit about a football field away from each other in the booth. They’re unusually close.

Minor League Catch-All thread 2009 edition
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 01:29 AM) Teams like to have all their affiliates close together. Realigning for divisional rivalries would require uprooting who knows how many organizations. It makes things harder for the players, coaches, scouts, front office, everybody, and for what? Most of these players are never going to sniff the majors anyway, and a lot of them that do will do so with other organizations. Things are fine just the way the are. Another thing to take into consideration is that teams usually switch minor league affiliates every couple of years. The division thing certainly is not a realistic idea, but a cool idea in an ideal world

Minor League Catch-All thread 2009 edition
A couple of weeks ago I made the case that it would be interesting to realign the divisions in the minor leagues to simulate the major league divisions, to help stimulate rivalry and competition between some of the younger kids. This is from a couple of months back, but when the Cubs and Sox AA teams hooked up, some guy had pretty much the same idea as me. http://whitesox.scout.com/a.z?s=261&p=2&c=867401
