Draft Day 1 Thread
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:31 PM) Wasn't someone here high on Olt? Me. I watched all of his home games at UCONN and worked for the Westerners in the NECBL while he was playing there.

Olt has tremendous pull power. He's made a great transition from SS to 3b, he's a bit cocky for my liking, but he's going to be a player. I broadcasted a couple games when he played for the Westerners. Gave him the nickname the "ThunderOlt." Hawk would be proud.

Tigers get a nice arm for the pen, but it ain't Allie. I'll take it.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) Seems like the last thing they need is another power arm in the bullpen. He seemed to fit the M.O, though.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) I love the direction Toronto is headed. That organization is looking poised for great things with Romero rounding into Santana-lite.

WOJO to the Jays. Alomar struggled through that one.

So... Does Robert Alomar actually have AIDS, or was that just a rumor?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) Why? I think Brentz puts together a decent career, if he's healthy. I like his package of tools enough to think he can make something of himself.

Olney: Sox to start trading away vets
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) Does Burls have a NTC? cuz he wouldn't waive it to go to the mets... Buehrle in NYC? not happening. Mark's daughter is named Brooklyn, isn't she? I'm just saying.... i know doesn't mean anything.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) I wonder if Castellanos goes to college now? He's a Miami commit, I could see it happening, but i think he signs if he gets drafted anytime before the 3rd.

I forget Brentz and Raunaudo were still in play. This is going to be an excellent COMP round.

Wow, Wilson and Workman making like Tom Petty and Free Fallin'.... bit of a stretch, i'm sorry. I'll be in the corner.

White Sox select Chris Sale with #13 pick in MLB draft
QUOTE (heirdog @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) I didn't know Mitchell talked a lot and Beckham always seems pretty grounded in this interviews (appreciative of the opportunity and the need to prove he belongs...I don't sense any entitlement). Now, Brian Anderson on the other hand... Mitchell has an outstanding sense of humor, and Beckham seems like a kid that recognizes how talented he is and takes it in stride. Sale seems like a kid who could throw a no-hitter, and shrug it off as not a big deal.

White Sox select Chris Sale with #13 pick in MLB draft
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Just hearing him talk, he reminds me of Johnny Danks. . Reynolds tried to get him to bite on a comparison to Danks or MB and he wouldn't have any of it. I think Danksy is a touch more charismatic then Sale.

I bet Lavon Washington really regrets holding out on the Rays last year.

Kid sounds really humble. Interesting contrast to guys like Beckham and Mitchell who never shut up.
