QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 16, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) np I try as hard as I can to erase those few months from my mind.

It's one of those tease acts that my teams always pull. f***ing bulls***. Scotty will hit a rocket back to the pitcher now, my life is way to predictable.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 16, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) It was the 2nd game of a 4 gamer. s*** my bad, thanks for the correction.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) Did we win another game all season after the Paniagua debacle? It was the 1st of a 3 gamer with the Twins, we dominated them...then he came in. They went on to win the next 2. Stupidly big momentum turn.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:52 PM) So where does Boone's game tonight rate on the all-time pathetic individual performances in a game by a Sox player? Chicago White Sox 8, Minnesota Twins 6 Game Played on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 (N) at U.S. Cellular Field MIN A 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 4 - 6 12 0 CHI A 0 3 0 0 1 0 4 0 x - 8 12 0 PITCHING Minnesota Twins IP H R ER BB SO HR Pulido L(0-1) 3 4 3 3 2 1 0 Reed 3.2 4 3 3 1 0 2 Balfour 0.1 3 2 2 0 0 1 Orosco 1 1 0 0 2 1 0 Totals 8 12 8 8 5 2 3 Chicago White Sox IP H R ER BB SO HR Buehrle W(12-13) 6 7 2 2 3 2 0 Sullivan 1.2 0 0 0 1 2 0 Schoeneweis 0.1 1 0 0 1 0 0 Paniagua 0.1 3 4 4 1 0 0 Gordon SV(11) 0.2 1 0 0 1 1 0 Totals 9 12 6 6 7 5 0 I know it's obvious but I had to look it up myself to see just how awful it was.

That leaves just one reliever with an ERA under 5 right?

QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Minnesota...bases loaded no outs. Top of the 7th. Down 7-3. Cuddyer pops out to the shortstop. Zumaya walks in a run followed by an inning ending double-play compliments of former Tiger Rondell White. Detroit - 7 Twins - 4 :headshake :headshake :headshake

QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) The Astros just totally threw at Bonds. 3 straight pitches way up inside. He's having a solid night too. 2 singles, 3 times on. I think it's funny when ESPN guys say he is hurting the team. Yes getting on every other time to the dish is bringing them down...

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Give me a stat where Mussina is more than a fraction better than Kazmir other than "WHIP". Your the one that got into the stats debate, where they have stats that are pretty much identical. I'll give you the argument that Mussina could have been the best pitcher in the AL East right now, but Kazmir has been just as good. He has more IP, more K's, a better ERA, a better WHIP, a better BAA, better K/BB, lower opponent OBP, SLG, OPS. I don't care how much better he is, there is no argument you can make that Kaz has better better.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) So 2/10 of a run ERA, which at this point could be as simple as a ball hitting the catwalk and landing instead of being a flyout, means Mussina is better? Interesting logic, although I guess if you have a better WHIP and BAA, your a better pitcher...similar to how Pods is better than Soriano since his OBP and strikeout ratios are better. I love stats. For the love of everything that is holy what other stats would you like to use? That Pods-Soriano comparison is beyond horrible. Give me more than one stat where Kazmir is bettering Mussina, please.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) Mussina: 6-1, 2.56, 52/10 Kazmir: 6-2, 2.78, 54/20 Only difference I see is Mussina gets more run support and has a couple less walks, so it's debateable who is the best right now. Better ERA, better WHIP, better BAA Looks a little bit better to me

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) Well lets say our 3-4-5 produces 2 runs out of that situation, which would be damn good off of Kazmir. We'd still be in deep s***, you act like it was a 2-1 game still when that happened. We're going to lose tonight, s*** happens, we had a bad matchup. When we win the next 2, I hope everybody chills out here. They produce 2 runs, it's a 3 run game with 9 outs to go. Kazmir has 95 pitches, I wouldn't call it over after that. But it's good to know you would concede a 3 run game with 3 innings to play against a team with a bullpen ERA over 5.5
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) You do realize Kazmir is probably the best pitcher in the AL East right now don't you? There is a reason his ERA is 2.70 and he strikes out 1 an inning and is 5-2 on a team that can't hit, he's damn good. No f***ing s*** I realize that. Christ, I say that our 3-4-5 fail to do anything with a leadoff double and I have to hear how good he is. And the best pitcher in the AL East RIGHT NOW is Mike Mussina. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) Was it that baseball genius, Steve Phillips , that traded him for Zambrano? Duquette

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) oh my f***ing lord. we have the best record in the majors. if your going to jump off a cliff, do it already. OH MY f***ING LORD!!!1!!1 Where did I jump off a cliff? . . . . . . Thank you for playing.

A leadoff double by your 2 hitter and the 3-4-5 don't do s***.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) If we were winning this game 10-6 against any other starter on their roster, this thread wouldn't have any such complaints. Yes it would

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ May 16, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) The Rays won't hit .230 all season. Big surprise. No s*** they won't, but getting shelled by a team that has slumped for a month and a half is not acceptable.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) I can't believe they blamed that on his ADD. Quite simply, he got lazy, and Johnson showed great hustle. His ADD is quite bad though, sometimes they have to remind him he is due up to bat.
-
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Whatever, 5 under and 8 under are not a whole lot different at this point in the season. 5 under and they are still last in their division and near the bottom of the AL. They are hitting .230 and have 6 runs in 5 innings.
-
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) Guys, the Rays are NOT a joke this year, nor were they really much of a joke at the end of last year. Kazmir is most certainly the real deal, and they have some good young talent that goes through hitting streaks. I mean, they handed the Yankees their asses all season, and routinely give them problems. They are 5 under hitting .230 as a club. Imagine if they had not been slumping so badly. And they are 8 games under .500, 2nd worst in the AL

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) Whatever, Little Giants is on HBO, this night cant be ruined.... You are gonna be farting out of your mouth and talking out of your butt Tony.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 14, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) I think Boone can be a solid pitcher in the future, I really do, but I dont think his time is now. I want to see what Lopez can do with the big club. Bump. Get Logan the f*** out

Seriously I love losing to the worst team not named Kansas City in the AL.
