Dude accidentally outed his identity on Twitter, and instead of playing it off, went completely off the radar. Was a poster here too and suddenly vanished at the same time.

I missed that. Who was it?

Montgomery went early, Kath still around. I still think it's an upset if the Sox take their first 1st round HS pick in the Hahn era. Getting excited with only three teams to go before the Sox pick.

    Different Montgomery.

Couldn't agree more, I'm out of here forever so I can enjoy my White Sox instead of reading a bunch of negative comments about a first place team.   SEE YA!

It’s almost been an hour. This account is still active. Must be a Ron burner.

The owner of the White Sox is not getting memos on the various updates to the names of the concession stands.  I can't even believe that you'd think otherwise, its mind boggling to me.  If you think that every business owner of companies with thousands of employees is getting memos sent to his desk about details that small, I have a bridge to sell you in Alaska.

By the way, I'd say Director of Analytics is just a bittttt higher up on the priority list of issues that he would be expected to meddle in compared to renaming a sign in the ballpark.

You have no idea how an organization is run. And will forever be an employee.

Corey Kluber would be the prototypical White Sox move. Relatively low cost, high upside pitcher who would likely take an incentive laden deal.

I have no idea about his health, but he was lights out from 2014-18, with more than 200 IP each year, 2 Cy Young awards, etc.

In Chicago, he doesn't have to be a top-of-rotation guy, but if he regained his form, he could be. He's a good mentor for Chicago's young pitchers.

Plus, the White Sox would seem to have what one might expect Kluber to want - the opportunity to win a World Series that so far has eluded him.

I'd be all-in for whatever it would take to sign him.

Quiet. This is now reserved for the much-more-interesting hot dog topping debate.

McCann was rated is a top 10 catcher on MLB.com yesterday. I was among those that really wanted him back, but it's obvious that was a pipe dream lol. He deserved a starting job.

That’s reflective of one of my biggest problems with these rankings. I believe that his ranking is in large part due to the contract he just signed and that he signed it with the Mets. If he stayed on as the Sox backup catcher (never would have happened), I don’t think they would have rated him in the top 10.

These rankings ARE fun - just not really indicative of much.

(this post has no bearing on my opinion of whether he actually is top 10 or not)

Posts like this are why I dont post much anymore.

    Sox fans are insufferable man.

"Clearly the most irrelevant team in baseball." Wow.

Keep posting. The “block” feature makes this board exponentially better. There are some great posters with fantastic insight. And you should look forward to engaging with them. The nice thing about the “block” is that you don’t have to look away with one eye open, tempted to take a peek. It filters out the garbage posters automatically. I have used it on several, and it’s part of the reason this is my most-visited website in my downtime.

  8. What a weird thread. Started by someone who needed to feel validated. Propped up by posters who saw it as an opportunity to bring down one of the best posters on the site via mob mentality. And then not only NOT shut down by mods, but used by one to jump on the bandwagon and call names.

I guess keep it up if you just want Sox Talk to be filled with Rons and the like. Maybe that’s the endgame?

I think it's probably likely they'll definitely be considered a little bit more this time around. Their front office is well built and they have one of the more liked head coaches in the league. It'll happen.

I like the optimism, so I’ll blindly choose to share in it. That is, after all, what being a sports fan is. Fingers hesitantly crossed.

Several months ago, the White Sox were in Spring Training receiving high praise, while the Bulls were the laughing stock of the NBA. Who would have thought that before the year ended, a complete role reversal would occur.

The Chicago Bulls became a destination for high profile executives, coaches, and free agents. Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox are now considered the laughing stock of MLB, a team free agents openly shun due to their deplorable leadership.

I doubt any players with legitimate options elsewhere will want to play in this most toxic work environment.

Whoa. I get your point, but that’s quite the leap. Let’s wait until a high profile free agent (not past his prime) actually signs with the Bulls.

JD Martinez didn't break out until the latter portion of his 20's either.

    Right now...

      Mike Trout: 72.5 career WAR / 65.4 7yr-peak WAR / 69.0 JAWS

      Average HOF CF (out of 19): 71.0 career WAR / 44.5 7yr-peak WAR / 57.7 JAWS

It’s just incredible. He still may be UNDERRATED. (At least by the average fan)

Kudos to NotCishek. He was definitely the first one. Made some posters here eat crow.

I don’t get it. Why ISN’T everyone here giving him credit? Because we don’t know whether he posts on this board? This is confusing.

Especially when I believe he’s continuing to show he does have some sort of source.

It's insane to me how strongly people believe in speculation that results from personal bias/prejudice.

The lack of need for anything resembling objective evidence in our culture is just depressing.

Especially as to how it translates across nearly all factors in life - many much more important than baseball. It really is depressing.
