  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) Cooper was asked this morning if Santiago and Lindsay would be coming up in September, and he didn't commit but he did mention Addison Reed as a possibility, so I would assume there's a real good chance he's getting added to the 40-man next week. And Axelrod should go up. I'm not sure how much more he needs to show or prove.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 08:46 AM) People seem to think it's the playoff roster thing, maybe to let them play longer. Seems weak to me, jerking Kuhn around again. Furthermore, who is going to catch in Charlotte? Is Castro about to start a rehab assignment, or is Lucy going to play full time? There is value to seeing "playoff pressure" performance. Have either been in playoffs with Sox? Price is 2nd catcher in Charlotte.
  3. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 11:56 PM) This is how Jon Gilmore throws from third base...every time. Image That's not sidearm, it's submarine!
  4. "One stipulation in the contract was that the White Sox would pay Mosier's college tuition at a state school should he eventually decide to attend one." Part of the MLB offer sheet. You can negotiate $ based on where you are going to school or have been accepted.
  5. E QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 10:41 PM) Cooper was on the radio Sunday night and gave them both shout-outs. You never know, but they might have to make room on the 40-man for that to happen. Any idea of what station?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) So what type of stuff does Axelrod have? Best pitch is a slider with a lot of depth.

  8. Is Terry Doyle! http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/pow/index.jsp
  9. Nice story in the Birmingham News. http://www.google.com/url?sa=X&q=http:...n85to4XITLRonyQ
  10. QUOTE (baseball17 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) Does anyone know if theres anywhere we can watch or listen to the All Star Game tonight? We should be able to get it off "Scoreboard" for the jacksonGenerals .
  11. "Players who fail to report to the team or who fail to sign an agreed-upon contract with the team. Players on this list do not count towards the Reserved List (40 man) or Active List (25 man) limits. Players on the restricted list do not receive pay, and may not sign with another team. A player may remain on this list for two consecutive years before he is removed -either activated or released. Often, placing a player on the Restricted List is akin to releasing him without fully relinquishing his rights."
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Anyone know why Rienzo only went 2 innings? Hopefully it was just due to ineffectiveness and not injury Could be for the All-Star game, he's going.
  13. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 08:57 AM) With the "Poreda" watch this week, can anyone shed some light on a question for me? If someone is on the 40-man roster do they get paid the major league minimum? I was in Memphis last year and Timo Perez was playing for the opposing team and someone said he is making six figures, how can that be? First year on the 40 Man, you're paid $32k. 2nd year $65k. Sure beats the $1,300/month in AA.
  14. Axelrod to Charlotte, Doyle & Reed to Birmingham.
  15. Joe Bisenius to Charlotte, Dyllan Axelrod off the DL.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ May 30, 2011 -> 01:13 PM) New pitchers to Charlotte... Cameron Bayne Brandon Kloess & Matt Wickswatt to Barons.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) I'm guessing he was backing up a pickle at second base. Mrs Doyle found the play, and Terry went to BC with the runner on second! The story, http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...;vkey=news_milb The play, http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/multime...ent_id=15227211
  18. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 22, 2011 -> 02:02 PM) I know he got hit on the hand that he hurt in ST in his second game back and that's why he's been on the DL. Per the Saturday Barons audio broadcast, Gilmore went back on the DL for a "knee problem".
  19. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 21, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) Terry Doyle is still in line to start the Rickwood game, Mr. John Doyle. You should come down to see him pitch, I think I can get you a ticket. Remember you said that...
  20. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) Mr. Doyle, your son's been promoted to B'ham. Although I'm sure you already know. They're on a ten game road trip right now, hope he enjoys his drive to Jacksonville. I'm assuming he'll take Nevin Griffith's spot in the rotation. Saturday, first start! Told it was a "spot start", but maybe... Flying to Jax, car-less don't you know. Need a good start T! (BTFW, Mr Doyle's my fathers name. "John" works fine for me.)
  21. Terry Doyle's last 4 starts: 28 Innings, 23 Hits, 4 Walks, 13 Strike outs, 9 Earned Runs, 2.89 ERA, 0-3, 1 ND Frustrating!
  22. Terry Doyle just landed in Winston-Salem.
  23. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) You have inside info, Mr. Doyle? Not sure how often Kenny feels the need to talk to the parent of a 37th rounder? My next conversation with him will be my first. No, we listened to all the Dash games after they picked up that Doyle character. Axelrod threw really well all year, earned a promotion. Nothing against Sauer, I just think you'll have the Big Board rotation correct for the Barons with that lone change.
  24. Love the "Big Board", thanks for all the effort. IMO, I think it's more likely we'll see Axelrod than Sauer, in the rotation for the Barons.
