  1. I have to say, if Maggs isn't the July player of the month they should just get rid of the award altogether. If Maggs wasn't as hot as he is right now PK would have a shot at the award as well!!
  2. Maybe the wind was blowing out and it would have made it too easy for the oppostion to hit the standard ninth inning 600 foot homerun off of him.
  3. It's obvious, at least to me, that Bud Selig has made every attempt during his tenure as commissioner to destroy the game of baseball. Therefore at this point nothing he does or allows to happen surprises me.
  4. I still say that you don't need a Sidney Ponson to be your fifth starter!!
  5. I have never been there personally, but my father takes frequent business trips to Seattle and has attended a couple Mariners games. He said the fans aren't very vocal one way or another. They kind of just sit there and watch the game. I personally prefer a more boisterous crowd like you'll frequently find on the corner of 35th and Shields.
  6. I said Retarded argument. You're argument definitely is not retarded, and I agree with what you said. The only problem is JM tells him what side of the plate to bat on, so JM is probably the retarded bastard to which you refer.
  7. True you won't be able to see the scoreboard, but in row 2 you shouldn't miss a whole lot else. I'd take them, but I would rather sit in the bleachers than anywhere else.
  8. A promotion from AAA would work, but I wouldn't want to see a rookie in the rotation in the playoffs. Though a fifth starter hardly gets PT in the playoffs.
  9. Whew!! That is not nearly as significant as the trade I heard going around about Richie Sexson going to the A's. Jose Guillen is a solid pick-up, but Richie Sexson would have been huge.
  10. See, that wasn't so bad, not a single retarded argument. Well done!!
  11. There is not a single person on this website that can argue with that, but.......(Insert retarded argument here)
  12. Good cut him, the prick has no right to be running his mouth the way he does. Bring up Wright for middle relief or to start. Just make sure you have Schoenweis available on that day if Wright struggles.
  13. If they can get another lefty the should. It would allow Schoenweis to be the starter, Wright to be a strong right-handed middle reliever, and we can kick Rick White of out the clubhouse on his big-fat redneck-ass. DIG IT!!
  14. I think the thing they don't realize is that even if we didn't make the Ritchie trade Fogg and Wells would still have been traded. They would have probaly been the players involved in a trade for Colon. Sorry Joel, but using that logic is like throwing darts blindfolded. There is no way you can say with any validity that would have happened. No one has a clue what would have happened last year had that trade not happened. Exactly! And yet I've seen that logic used alot. Like Kenny Williams traded for Todd Ritchie knowing he was going to lose fifteen games. Sounds to me like a contradiction. It's always a gamble. You win some you lose some.
  15. Well it's good to see Kenny Williams did the right thing there. I had my doubts for a minute, but knew he would. You really don't need a pitcher of Sidney Ponson's quality as your fifth starter, though it would be a scary rotation. Joe Crede is the third baseman for this team for the next ten years!!
  16. I'd prefer the idea of signing a fifth starter or using Schoenwies as a starter and having Dan Wright in the bullpen. I just don't have a whole lot of confidence with Wright as a starter at this point. Puts too much pressure on the offense.
  17. Besides the fact that 2004 doesn't interest me at all at this point, you should possibly keep Koch only because he'll probably join some other team and be a dominating closer (Keith Foullke).
  18. The only problem with that is had Rick White made it out of that inning, you probably would have seen Billy Kroch come in with a six run lead. We all remember what happened last time Kroch pitched against Kansas City. Homeplate turned into a turnstyle 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 runs!!!
  19. I'm a bit of a Cardinal's fan as well and I can tell you that based on what I saw from Rick White in the playoffs last year, I really would hate to see Rick White on this roster if we're playing in the postseason. After what he said, send him to Detroit or something they could use the help.
  20. That's alright, I give it another week or so until Kenny Lofton begins his audition to join his umteenth team by turning into a sack of potatoes at the plate.
  21. Actually If the White Sox make a move before the trading deadline for a starting pitcher, that is who you could see make their White Sox debut on Saturday. How sweet would that be!! I've heard good things about Safeco, except that there fans are a bit weird.
  22. I love the fact that all of the talk has died down about the construction of the Renelvis Hernandez wing of the Hall of Fame. Since we have seen this guy once before I expect that the bats will give him a warm welcome tonight.
  23. The one thing I've really noticed about Joe Crede this year is that he tends to pop out a lot, which he wasn't doing much of last year. I don't know if it's an upward motion in his swing, but it seems to me like that is the one difference from last year to this. If he can get that straightened out. BEWARE!
  24. It's nice to see that I am not the only one out there that doesn't think Kenny Williams has done a decent job as a GM. Not great, but decent. Besides to be a great GM in baseball, you have to be nothing short of clear-voyant.
  25. I think the thing they don't realize is that even if we didn't make the Ritchie trade Fogg and Wells would still have been traded. They would have probaly been the players involved in a trade for Colon. Thank you!!
