  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) It's been every year for me since 1959 through thick and thin 1951 GO GO SOX
  2. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) sigh I think if KW and Hahn been honest with the fans and admitted they were rebuilding the team instead of serving us the competitive team kool-aid,I would be more forgiving about what I'm seeing day in and day out.
  3. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) I'm hoping that the Sox ineptitude will cause Hawk's disappearance one way or another. Houston annoucers are saying this is 'snap' time for many players.Frustrations, bad performances are causing players to lose tempers and getting thrown out of games. Also great comment by color man when asked what's surprised him so far."Angels and Dodgers spending tons of money with no results'.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) Who would have thought that Jason Castro would wind up being better than Beckham, Smoak and B. Wallace? Foul pole homer-#$#%^&. Second in his career off lefty pitchers. Both Sox.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 02:38 PM) De Aza and Ramirez equals bad Alexi's 3.39 pitches per AB came into play there. No discipline.Could have been walked. Sox have been in 24 one run games.
  6. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 02:00 PM) Yayyyyy we didn't get shutout....LMAO Bet that is their mindset....so sad. Just watching other games around the league home plate umpires seem like they have been brutal this year. Missed calls everywhere. Why can't we just give them a device with the strike zone on it & let them sit back there & call balls & strikes? People wonder why scoring seems to be down in baseball but just look at a lot of the calls these homeplate umps are making. We have the technology, no reason not to use it. Always felt that the home plate ump should be the best of the ump and the position is permenent.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) Santiago dominated with his fastball today, just far too much damage done on his secondary pitches. Interesting stat thrown out Friday by the Astro announcers.First pick pitchers make it to the majors 62% of the time, for at least one game.Position first pick players make it 79%,for one game minimum.Teams spend a lot of money on first rounders and push these kids to get some type of return on them.
  8. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) This pleases me at least in that I picked up Dallas Keuchel on a couple of fantasy teams. Not a bad strategy to pick up probable starters who are facing the White Sox. Remember the last few years when AAA pitchers and rookie pitchers made the Sox look bad?
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 01:37 PM) Never seen this Keuchel before, which I am assuming will be the excuse after the game for our hitters, but ithe must have a lot of sink on his pitches based on all the groundouts the sox have today Doesn't help that Alexi has the 4th lowest pitches seen at bat with 3.39 per AB.Not too selective.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) He's seeing the end of his career rapidly approaching Anybody have Pauleys stats since the ASB last year when he was hitting .399?
  11. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 12:56 PM) Its so sad when even a team like the ASStros get up 3 runs on ya & you know its over. Astros announcers said Astros pitching staffs ERA is second behind the As in June.13 quality starts last 15.
  12. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 12:33 PM) 3-1 count, swing at ball 4, and then pop out in the OF. Horrible 2nd inning AB by Keppinger. Didn't know Flowers is a converted 3rd baseman, switched to catching in '08.Hasn't done him much good.
  13. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 16, 2013 -> 12:25 PM) Ain't that the truth. It's the old "finding ways to lose" way of playing. Like your graphic. Looks like a combo of Edward Geary and Arthur Rackham.
  14. Getting the Astros feed again.Announcers said the talk about the Sox is they beat themselves with poor play and mistakes that don't appear in the box score.Referenced Danks pickoff last night. They're right.
  15. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) I was thinking the same thing. OMG what a fitting ending to this game. Think that's the second time Danks has been picked off in the ninth. I keep remembering Hawks mantra: you win 60,lose 60 and don't give away any of the other 42. Boy have we ever.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 06:58 PM) I don't have anything but gameday but two pitches to Viciedo appeared to be in the hitting zone outside and maybe taken to right but he doesn't swing. He then gets caught on the inside pitches He's resistant to advice to go with the pitch.A pull hitter to the end. This from the Toronto announcers last series we played them.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 06:32 PM) If getting swept in a 4 game series by the Astros is what causes mass changes, then GO ASTROS! This current Sox team just lacks "it" this season. I've forgotten who we got for Harrell.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 06:11 PM) Offense looks like total garbage tonight. Harrell has them taking strikes and swinging at pitches out of the zone. There's a good chance we will be 9 1/2 behind Detroit tonight. Also totally tired of seeing hittable pitches go by for strikes and then see Sox hitters swing at garbage. They are thinking too much at the plate.See ball, hit ball.Don't expect the pitcher to throw you the pitch you expect. He's not stupid.
  19. QUOTE (mike89128 @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 05:45 PM) In last ten games not including today he's gone 5-36 with 6 so. Flowers has gone 9-30 with 9 so. Between the two about 25% so rate More on Viciendo: career ABs 866, SO 208 24%. He is not the Sox future.Way too many ABs given away.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 06:37 PM) These announcers don't think very much of Viciedo it seems. In last ten games not including today he's gone 5-36 with 6 so. Flowers has gone 9-30 with 9 so. Between the two about 25% so rate
  21. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 05:28 PM) John Danks vs. Lucas Harrell yay go Sox Just watched a bonehead play by Baltimores Alexi Casilla.Took off for third from first on routine fly to right field with one out and Balt behind by one in the 9th.Thought there were two outs.Remember Beckhams blunder last week breaking for third on 2-2 pitch? He started the next game.Interested how Showalter will handle Castilla. Watch the waiver wire.
  22. According to Cox Cable,WCIU doesn't license its broadcasts for rebroadcast.Because todays game is a Fox regional broadcast in Houston area,I won't be seeing the game. This is nonsense.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 09:01 PM) Flowers missed that last pitch by a foot. Continues to be just about the worst late inning hitter I've ever seen. Brutal loss, two straight games where Alexei's defense cost the Sox the game. Sale didn't deserve this.
  24. QUOTE (DukeofChicagoA1 @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 06:45 PM) I hate Tyler Flowers with a passion. Just call Phegley up already. He can't be as bad as this bum. Got the Astros feed on Extra Innings.Someone needs to fires the two yokels doing the broadcast.Goin on and on and on for two innings with the female roving reporter about her catching a salmon thrown to her at Pikes in Seattle. Finally turned off the audio.
  25. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) They will probably get their game in before the weather gets there, but anybody with a sizable drive home might want to consider leaving early. Tribune radar seems to show these storms to be fast movers.Probably clear the 'cell around 7:30 PM.What was the rain forecast and winds?
