  1. Terance Marin received the best starting pitcher award in the Caribbean series. "Great Job" Can't wait to see you in Spring Training this year.
  2. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 8, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) That IS a hefty velo increase, though, if #'s are to be believed. Long-ago retirees like Russell Branyan are on the field there, so maybe not the highest level of play. Throw him in B'Ham and see if he can dominate - probably not much future with our org. if he doesn't. Agreed , throw him and see what happens !!! All I know , he has made big strides since being released and resigning and that's a positive. I will continue watch he's progress.
  3. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 8, 2015 -> 01:43 AM) ok thanks the perfect game scouting rpt had him at 83 mph in the fastball category That perfect game scouting report was when he was a sophomore in high school !!!
  4. http://www.modbee.com/sports/high-school/article9548831.html Read this artical they put out on him. He was hitting 97mph in the Mexican pacific league playoffs multiple times.

Going onto the 5th inning in semi final , Marin working 3 hit shut out against Dominican Republic. Fastball running 96 MPH, cutter, change up and slider are flat nasty. Mexico up 4-0

  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) They are converting him to a starter? That's interesting. Where did you hear that? And where did you hear about his level to open the year? Minor league clubs are saying they will release rosters probably early next week, we'll know more then. I'm sure some players know already. Im sorry, I can not indulge my source info. Will have to see next week ?????? My source hasn't failed me yet.
  14. The word was Terance Marin was moving to AA, but they decided to keep him on high A as a starter now. Does anybody have any info ? He threw the other day in spring training 5 innings, 1 hit, 1 run, 5 k's, 0 walks... 42 pitches. ???????
  15. Terance Marin is also in instructional league, good chance he will be playing fall ball till late November. Will find out this week. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) Let's have a seperate thread for AFL discussions (and the AZ instructional league, aka mini-AFL). Sox players tenatively set for AFL: OF Trayce Thompson IF Carlos Sanchez IF Andy Wilkins P Andre Rienzo P Santos Rodriguez P Salvador Sanchez P Taylor Thompson The Sox also have 53 guys going to the instructional league. Gonzo says these guys are among them: Pitchers - Chris Bassitt, Eric Jaffe, Erik Johnson, Jefferson Olacio, Jeff Soptic, Kevin Vance. Catchers - Sammy Ayala, Kevan Smith. Infielders - Keon Barnum, Nick Basto, Joey DeMichele, Micah Johnson, Marcus Semien. Outfielders - Mark Haddow, Courtney Hawkins.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:55 PM) Thompson 2-3, HR #22, 84 RBIs If he finishes up strong (maybe hit .250), that would be a pretty good season. Gotta love Trace, but what about my boy Terance Marin !!!!! Still getting it done, gotta give the boy some props. Player Terance Marin (W, 5-3)( Saves 7) IP 4.0 H 3 R 0 ER 0 BB 0 SO 3 HR 0 ERA 1.78
  17. Still putting up good numbers . Is there a chance he goes to AA? Or is there to much shuffling going on right now?
  18. I see my prospect Terance Marin is getting done in high A Another great outing tonight Has anbody seen him pitch? Deceiving fast ball running 91-93mph has topped at 94-95 inside source. Flat out nasty major league slider, just plain dirty and is developing nice change up. His cut fastball is soild but his command is his best weapon. He a competitor, he reminds me of Valverde ( closer for Detroit) when he came off that mound pounding his chest after that last strike out, the batter losing his bat in to the crowd on the third strike was a big exclamation point for the game. Good work T-Money can't wait see you at the next level before seasons end.
  19. Does anybody have any information on the bench clearing brawl against the Carolina Mudcats?
  20. QUOTE (danman31 @ May 9, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) Welcome to Soxtalk! But easy on the all caps please. Terance just got the call headed up. Wnston Salem High A
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 9, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) He's yours! And welcome to the board! Feel free to look around at some of the other AAP profiles, to see what people do with them. There are lots of formats you can use, or do whatever you want to. You can certainly look at any of the ones I started if you want to, or any of the others, there are lots of good ones here. The key is putting as much info as you can in here, and keeping it up to date. I'll update the main thread reflecting you are taking Terance. Thanks for joining!
