The Broadcasting Tandem of Jason Benetti & Steve Stone - Love 'em, like 'em, or leave 'em!
There is no such rumor. Stone even tweeted the other day that he wants to be in Chicago for years @stevestone 10:57 AM - 13 May 19 via Twitter for iPad I am working with the best young broadcaster in sports. Jason has the innate ability to know when to speak for the game and when the game speaks for itself. I love this beautiful game and I love Chicago. I'll be here for awhile because I'm having a blast

The Broadcasting Tandem of Jason Benetti & Steve Stone - Love 'em, like 'em, or leave 'em!
I've said it before and I'll say it again- baseball is a game and it's fun. Benetti is having fun The alternative is someone like Hawk who's completely miserable, thinks that his opinions are facts and b****es all game long Hawk might be better if this team is good in 2020 and 2021, yet even then, Benetti is really good in close games and on big calls, so I imagine he'd be the same way for a consistently competitive team

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
So they aren't spending money in 2019 because of 5 guys who might be good and demand contracts in 2026-2028? If Moncada and Eloy turn out to be really good, Robert is good, and Cease and Kopech are no worse than #3's, they aren't going to pay all of them anyway

Sox and Stros 7:10 Central
From my understanding, Eaton was one of the ring leaders for the keep Drake Laroche around movement. It's also my understanding that he was kind of a prick. Todd Frazier, an extremely likeable guy by all accounts, having a big issue with him seemingly is another feather in the "Eaton is an ass" hat

Sox and Stros 7:10 Central
They put up a graphic about Sox all time leadoff HR leaders. Eaton is #2, way behind Durham. Anyway, Stone made a comment about how Eaton "grinded" his way toward the 2 spot. Benetti then said "yes, he can really grind." Stone said something again about grinding after. Everytime "grind" was mentioned it was extremely sarcastic

You would if you were a moron

Sox and Stros 7:10 Central
Remember yesterday when Stone and Benetti took some shots at Eaton? Evidently Todd Frazier and Eaton had to be separated just now in between innings of their game @Dick Allen@TheTruth05

Day off today for Robert but he came in as a PR

Anthony Rendon's OPS hasn't been below .900 in 4 years and is line to get a big contract this offseason, but yeah I'm sure Sheets is the next Rendon.

Toronto (18-26) v. Chicago (21-23) - 5/19/19 - 1:10 PM
Yeah, because 1) everyone knew he was going to struggle because of how raw he was despite being talented as hell and 2) everyone knew he was promoted too early. As far as I'm concerned this Moncada and better is the one we'll see moving forward, but if you want to include his first 300 PA's in how you think he'll be as, say a 27 year old, go for it.

It's the way your posts come off. It's one thing to "think" Moncada won't hit .300 (which btw my point was none of us give a shit, or at least I don't, if he hits .300 *ever* as long as he's playing good D, predominantly hitting xbh's and stealing some bags) or have an OPS of .870+ consistently. It's another to defend it all the while being an asshole about it and doing so with strange, borderline useless numbers.

Yeah, base it off of stats when he was 21 and 22 rather than his clearly-improved approach at the plate now. Wonderful idea

I don't mind bunting but bunting with your best hitter is idiotic

Toronto (18-26) v. Chicago (21-23) - 5/19/19 - 1:10 PM
I can't imagine why it matters if he hits .300 if his OPS is consistently .870 or better but thanks for posting nonsense

You missed the sarcasm. Grichuk was one of those boners who complained about TA's bat flips

Toronto (18-26) v. Chicago (21-23) - 5/19/19 - 1:10 PM
But by all accounts, he was pretty unlikeable and acted like a jagoff when the Laroche situation happened

Toronto (18-26) v. Chicago (21-23) - 5/19/19 - 1:10 PM
A few gamethreads ago, far past the end of the game a few posters were arguing about Moncada's hit tool and some were pissed that .280 could be his best

Toronto (18-26) v. Chicago (21-23) - 5/19/19 - 1:10 PM
Will Moncada ever hit .300? @The Sir's column:

I meant wasn't Keuchel in the low 90's in the MLB? It doesn't sound like Pilkington will be if he gets here
-
5/19 Games
Didn't Keuchel have a 92-94 mph fastball once upon a time though?
