  1. I just don't see us trading both Sale and Quintana this off-season. One or the other
  2. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 02:51 PM) Have the team sign Castro and then sign Cespedes and it will be a Merry Christmas for White Sox fans. Cool, let's get older and go .500 next year. Sounds like a win
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) I like reading this kind of articles, especially since I'm clearly Jimmy Butler's biggest fan on this site. Total fluff piece, but I am glad that we are still getting fluff pieces at this point in the season, haha. http://www.espn.com/blog/chicago-bulls/pos...s-back-together How long until we learn of an injury because of football?
  4. The hitters in Atlanta's system just don't excite me enough.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 10:16 PM) Kinda curious to know what Frazier is adding in these deals I would guess a top 100 prospect plus a lottery ticket?
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) He was silent after a week of hundreds of hate crimes occurring in his name. When was he going to proactively speak up on it? He was put on the spot and gave a tepid, dismissive response blaming the media for making a mountain out of a molehill. F*** that guy. Reporter finally putting him on the spot regarding his silence: You call that a response? LOL At least he speaks the truth, the media does do exactly what he said. You keep conveniently forgetting when he says Stop it, twice.
  7. "needless to say, an absurd return that one would have to think would be centered around Urias/Bellinger and A LOT more. " Oh please!
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:06 PM) If the Sox don't get a HUGE package of can't miss prospects, I'm talking four minimum prospects who CAN'T MISS, then this will be perhaps the worst trade in history. Losing Sale and Frazier guarantees we finish last in the division. It guarantees it. Our pitching staff will be decimated losing Sale's No. 1 slot. And Frazier, despite the low BA, was our power. So, OK, we are going to finish last and we'll be out of the race probably by the end of the first week of May. Like I said, you better have a CANT MISS HAUL of prospects to make all that misery (and crowds of under 20,000) acceptable. The obvious question is, "Do the Dodgers have any can't miss prospects?" Don't tell me you have to take a risk now and then. Uh ... not for Sale and Frazier. Any moron can tell Kris Bryant and Schwarber could HIT HIT HIT. Any moron could tell back in the day Frank Thomas could HIT HIT HIT. Bring in prospects like that or this team will draw so few fans the next five years it will have to sell/move. We are rebuilding, this doesn't matter.
  9. Insert **It's Happening" meme here
  10. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) Nightengale says no serious talks with any team. Looking like the trade deadline all over again. It is November
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) "I think it's all overblown/exaggerated" or something to that effect. That's a reassuring response. He looked in the camera and said "stop it" and some words before it. Go watch
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 10:02 AM) Yes, but it does send a message that he's not fully committed to the job IMO. He's still wanting to be near his businesses. Or maybe he likes to be in his home? I have seen articles posted else where how he is weird about sleeping in his own bed.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 10:33 AM) Interesting that he's already publicly criticized peaceful protests and critiques from the press but has yet to condemn the rash of hate crimes in his name. LOL like others have said, he did this in his interview
  14. Rabbit did tweet about the Sox and Dodgers being good trade partners today
  15. I hope he is tendered and traded. I guarantee he can be traded for something
  16. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) If you are a Muslim-American, would you feel good about any of those qualifications? He didn't say anything about Muslim-Americans
  17. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) https://www.donaldjtrump.com/press-releases...lim-immigration This is from Trump's campaign website in December of 2015 calling for a complete ban on Muslims entering the country. Here's Trump on the Mexican-American judge on the bench in the case vs. Trump University. http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/03/politics/don...mp-tapper-lead/ This isn't a twisting of words. Trump said a number of things during his campaign that were anti-Muslim and anti-Mexican. I can't believe that's even a debate. Regarding the first link: you clearly forgot thr rest of the sentence in your post. And was this not right after some sort of terrorist event? "UNTIL we figure what is going on" Not forever
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) Yup. It's all just a big misunderstanding. When he cheered on folks to beat up colored people protesting at his rallies he was actually cheering on a ball game he was listening to in his earpiece. He's also the biggest feminist I know. Loves the ladies if you know what I mean. Yeah I am sure he was like "oh a colored person protesting, everyone beat him up" There could be no other rational explanation Yeah he is a douche towards women but not sure what law he will put in place to put their lives into danger
  19. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) The Left at least has merit when it comes to what Trump said about Mexicans and Muslims. That's simply inexcusable. Though his words were twisted a bit on Muslims because he was referring to terrorists or extremists at points. Why the left is crying for the LGBT community and blaming Trump (Pence fine, Trump no) I don't understand. Trump spoke out against the whole NC bathroom debacle and brings out rainbow flags at his rallies. He has stated multiple times he doesn't care which bathrooms trans people use at his hotel. Pretty much all his words are twisted or people hear what they want to hear. He wants illegal immigrants out that pose a threat to our country. But people hear Muslim or Mexican and assume he means the whole race when it isn't the case.
  20. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) Why would they be? Shouldn't they have been worried for what Obama might have done? No matter who is President there will always be groups of people in the United States that are worried. But for some reason it a much bigger deal when those worried are minorites.
  21. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) It's simply this: It's easy for you to say it'll all be ok, when the major policies that are likely to be enacted won't affect you the way they'll affect minorities, women and gays. You saying it'll all be ok is you speaking from a place of white male privilege. The fear people have who don't look the way you do is very real, and it's very well-founded. White male privileged? I am still waiting to see what Trump has said or done to make everyone think something that major is going to happen to drastically affect those groups. The "white male privileged " weren't out protesting and lighting flags on fire when Obama became President.
  22. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) Are you white? Yep. Looking forward to the next response
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) I'd have my kid out of that school and back home so fast... Why is it the school's fault? There are stupid ignorant people everywhere
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) Some items in Trumps 100 day plan are very unconservative like, such as the tax credit and matching for daycare funds. I'm really interested to see who actually gets cabinet positions and how his stance changes now that he is president. If it doesn't change, then we got big problems, if it does change, then I do agree there are things that the government needs to do and act on and that should happen under this admin. The key to me is that you don't just repeal to repeal, you repeal with a real plan in mind that will put us in a better spot. There is a lot on Trumps 1st 100 day list that I can actually agree with, others that I don't agree with, and others that while they sound good, probably aren't actually realistic. This! I don't have the knowledge but I would be interested to see how many of the things on other President's 100 day lists actually happened.
  25. Most of you are from Illinois so I kind of expected this type of response but damn. Everything will be fine, country will be fine. I highly doubt anything earth shattering is going to happen in the next 4 years. Trump is going to say he is going to do whatever he wants but just because he said it doesn't mean it is going to happen. No matter what he or any other President does there will a minority of the population that it affects greatly. There is no way around that.
