At what point do we stop rooting for actual competitive players to be traded away for prospects that may or may not work out, and start actually rooting for winning baseball? Like I understand the rationale behind it, but we already did this once. Under the same ownership. It did not work. I guess people think this is the only hope this team has but, if Jerry didn't let it be successful the first time, why the hell would he let it be successful the second time?
2026, but 2027 more likely.

He's trying too hard and bending over backwards to kiss Stone's ass.
Eventually he'll be fine hopefully with more experience.
My thoughts too

Hmmmmm he's a glorified opener.
You were probably surprised by the game I take it.

I’m hoping the Sox place Crochet on the IL after every few starts to preserve his arm, so he can last the whole season. The Dodgers would do this to lessen the load on their young arms and often injured pitchers like Kershaw/May.
The Sox have acquired so much pitching depth since last season’s trade deadline that they can easily pluck someone from the 40 man to replace Crochet for a start or two.

Grossman is much much needed on this team/org because he walks like 15% of the time (league average is around 7.5%). The Sox needs more guys who see a lot of pitches and take their walks. Grossman is a welcome addition

I would be pretty pleased with this pick. I also imagine that it would come in underslot and the Sox would save a lot of money.

56-106.
A perfect season for the Sox has them trading all vets of value by the trade deadline including Luis Robert. It’s going to be ugly year round for this team. The only thing that matters is identifying the next core guys and getting them experience

I hope this is a prep heavy draft because the Sox have an older farm.
11 of the top 30 according to MLB Pipeline are 21 or younger as of today's date

You must really believe in Kurtz's bat. That's one profile I want the Sox to stay far away from and I think they will.
I think they’ll stay away too but yes, I am a huge believer in Kurtz

We hoping for a college or HS bat? Selfishly I want a college bat that can be impactful in a couple years
I’d be fine with Condon or Kurtz but they should take whoever the best bat is.
-
With all the pitching the Sox have landed, I hope this draft class for them is heavy on bats.

I'm in agreement overall, but I just see them keeping them until the end. Not sure why.
Perfect season for the Sox ends with Eloy, Cease, Robert (possibly), Moncada, and any veteran reliever of value off the roster by the TDL

I think the Sox will have a good team in his last two years.
They should move him.
The more drastic the rebuild, the better the long term results

Dillion Head has to be a must. Snelling too.

Give me Walcott, Gutierrez and Porter.

I hope the Sox are talking Walcott with Texas. Dude will be a top 20 prospect this time next year.
They need to add upside to the system. This guy has a lot of it.

The bat flip bothered you? It’s 2024, get over it. Let players have personality.

There were a lot of people on this forum who clamored for Hahn to resign Abreu to a huge contract. I’m glad that he didn’t, he avoided a disaster. Not resigning Abreu is one of Hahn’s better moves as GM
