  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) The three year thing is really so stupid. In the free agent market, yes it is.
  2. Oh I think there's no way Cespedes signs one. I could see Upton signing one.
  3. Phil Rogers was just on hot stove. Just reiterated the 3 year deal sentiment. Said we could be outbid for him by a team like Baltimore or Detroit. Did mention upton on a 2 year deal. Talked about Jose trying to broker a deal and get him here. I'm hoping that really helps. Just get it done Hahn! Let's go buddy. I don't see us getting it done for 3 years, but if they did that'd be fine.
  4. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) Why trade for a LaRoche when you can just sign Chris Carter for that. No wonder we had zero takers leaguewide Bingo
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 08:36 PM) I will seriously cry tears of joy if the Sox can sign him. I think Hahn is a sleeping giant right now with him. I think they're trying to do this without Detroit sneaking in. Hopefully Abreu is the ticket to get him here.
  6. Cespedes is the best OF on the market now. Has familiarity within the AL and AL Central. Good defensively. Slap him in the middle of this lineup and color me tickled.
  7. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) Brewers are tanking HARD. Seems like half the NL is. Braves, Phillie, Brewers, etc.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Today ain't over yet. I predicted that overpay because we're not a great team and he wants paid.
  9. Rotoworld.com FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Brewers have signed free agent first baseman Chris Carter to a one-year, $2.5 million contract. Carter was a surprise non-tender by the Astros leading up to the Rule 5 Draft in early November. He was linked as a possible Indians' free agent target following his hitting the open market, but their interest cooled off. The Brewers shipped Adam Lind to the Mariners in early December, which leaves a first base opening for the 29-year-old to fill. While he's slugged 61 homers over the last two seasons, his all-or-nothing approach routinely leads to a ton of strikeouts and lopsided triple-slashes. To whit, he hit just .199/.307/.427 in 460 plate appearances in 2015. Source: Ken Rosenthal on TwitterJan 6 - 6:28 PM
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 07:24 PM) What was your prediction? Today, 6 for $125 mil
  11. Whelp my prediction we'd sign Cespedes is off. Damn those "sources" lol
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) I actually like Austin Jackson a little more as a buy low guy right now. His defense was atleast passable. If we didn't have LaRoche, I'd sign him move him to CF and move Eaton to LF.
  13. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) Exactly, they did more than enough within the trade market. Sack up, pay Cespedes & move on to the next move. Ya. We gave up enough prospects. If they need to make a move at the deadline so be it.
  14. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) How much more can the Sox dip into their system at this point, though? That's my biggest concern. That's where I'm at. Land Cespedes and keep your pick. Then add a RHP starter. If Hahn's feeling froggy maybe even add Desmond.
  15. My predictions: Davis to BAL, Cespedes CWS, Upton Giants, Parra DET.
  16. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) Great stuff in here http://m.mlb.com/news/article/161178212/wh...th-gordon-in-kc Predicting us, but I really see Detroit lying in the weeds. Hope they get this done asap.
  17. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Sanchez reported Sox and Orioles were favorites for Yo. The Sox need Davis to stop screwing around and take the Orioles money. Boras client. He'll wait it out.
  18. Interesting seeing the Orioles tied to Upton after Jesse Sanchez reported White Sox and Orioles were favorites.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) So we weren't posturing. If we offer Cespedes 3 years then he won't accept. The FO has to know that. I understand it for Gordon. I'm ok with that. If they do it to Cespedes and lose out I'll be pissed. Cespedes is younger is why I don't buy it.
  20. I expect a Cespedes signing in the next 48 hours.
  21. Save your freak out if we only offer 3 to Cespedes and Upton. Until then relax.
  22. I doubt they're only going 3 years for Cespedes
  23. @Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #WhiteSox would not go 4 years on Gordon, as @BNightengale said. Will they adjust on Cespedes? Gordon 32 this season, Cespedes 30.
