QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:49 PM) What is he, like 50? Actually he's 58 42 really
-
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:43 PM) And what good is Shark staying . It would only be for the rest of this year . He is not resigning with the Sox. He is testing free agency . Giving up a cost controlled Q and resigning Shark at huge dollars and long years would be wacko ! I think he stays in the offseason. It's hard to move Q now though. I would anticipate them trying to move Tim Anderson for Puig but they have Seager so I'm grasping at straws now like we all are.

Damn I was going to bed to lol. I'm not a Jays fan and I'm too wound up. This is a crazy trade. I thought he was going to the Mets
-
You know KW is chomping at the bit now seeing this. He's splashy. I'm intrigued now.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:44 PM) Why do the Rockies want Jose Reyes? Has to be moved somewhere else.
-
@Ken_Rosenthal: Source: Jose Reyes and minor leaguers to #Rockies.
-
That doesn't makes sense.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:39 PM) Damn dude, you really want CarGo you post about him in every thread I know I know can't help it sorry.
-
Thank God KW didn't do this.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:36 PM) That's a weak rotation. Agreed. Shark stays if Q is gone IMO.
-
CarGo has to be next. Now we're on a roll. You're move KW and Hahn. Teams aren't waiting til the deadline. Put your balls on the table and go get a bat creatively
-
That's crazy.
-
CarGo to the White Sox next maybe
-
@Ken_Rosenthal: BREAKING: Tulo traded to #BlueJays.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) I only care about on the field could care less if they are not good friends. Chemistry absolutely matters though
-
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) I disagree. Pitching is always going to be a premium. Good pitching will shut down bats. Look at the last series the sox played Toronto. Sox good pitching shutdown one of baseballs top offenses in league. Tigers also have one of top offense in league but their pitching is hurting them. It's what I've heard in MLBN. Some exec said right now that if ya got a bat ya got gold.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:22 PM) If we're going for it, I don't want to give up any of the four main starters for Puig. If you could build a package around prospects for Puig - I'm 100% in. But otherwise, the Sox need Sale-Q-Shark-Rodon intact to make a push. So Tim Anderson package?
-
They don't need to be close. Just co-exist. Get this kid out of LA and into a hard working locker room. Whip him into shape and get along.
-
@philgrogers: If @Dodgers really make Puig available, per an @BNightengale report, White Sox would explore. But Abreu, Puig are not especially close.
-
This Puig train is gaining steam. This is up KW alley. Makes too much sense. I'd almost be tempted to get on it if we take 3 of 4 from BOS
-
@philgrogers: Yes, Yasiel Puig and Jose Abreu were teammates in Cuba. Yes, White Sox love Cuban players. Yes, they need bats & can offer SP. Interesting.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) It's nuts to give up any prospects for CarGo unless they're eating a significant amount of that contract. It's not unlike when the Sox claimed Alex Rios. Somehow, if KW were at the controls, he'd probably be the only team in baseball to assume that contract as well. Trading Garcia, sure, might make sense but anything beyond that (Montas/Anderson) is just making it harder to compete over the next couple fo seasons. I detest those White Sox "cost savings" moves that deplete our talent base in return for more profitability. If you want Anderson/Montas AND to get rid of CarGo's contract, it better be more along the lines of the Thome deal. Even then, I don't think at his age and with the league change that he's going to be anything but a shadow of his former self in the AL. I think him moving to the AL and DHing part time is exactly what he needs. He's healthy and on a tear right now. I'm also not saying take on the full 2/37 either.
-
I personally would much rather move Avi, Montas in a package for Cargo plus Cash. I like Q too much to move him.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) Quintana for Puig is the only move that makes sense for both sides. The White Sox get a cost-controlled player how in the right environment is one of the top 3-5 players in the game and a legit superstar. He also could be a bust. The Dodgers get incredible consistency out of the #3 spot going into the playoffs, and, with Ryu, that provides them a formidable rotation in the coming years. Not to mention there's at least a 50/50 chance they can't retain Greinke's services, so they really need solid/reliable pitching, not veteran 4/5 guys who are placeholders. It makes too much sense actually. Both cost controlled. LA is looking for a LH cost controlled pitcher. We need a hitter. Matches up well.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) I've got no interest in moving Q. I don't even want to move Shark. We should be able to get a bat if we take on some money in the short term without moving too much of the farm. Given what we've seen from Sanchez and Saladino, Micah is looking like the odd man out to me. My guess is something like MJ and Spencer Adams are the guys they are willing to move. Bats are at a premium now so it will be tough.
