Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals per Rosenthal

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) Not a bad package by any means, and may end up being the best we can get, but just wish it was mainly position players. I have faith in the Sox developing pitching...we need bats! This a million times over. We are outright abysmal at producing hitters. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) The people helping him don't know who the finalists are, if he is the only one who knows. Why is he playing a game? The country isn't a reality TV show. He isn't telling his people who the finalists are. They even tell you who the finalists are on the Academy Awards, but Donny , the guy who claimed the election is rigged, then won with the second most votes, is keeping everyone is suspense again. The guy is a joke. I doubt he lasts his term. So you have ZERO answer to the question. Thanks.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 09:59 AM) If I post this same tweet in 4 years, would you assume I'm trying to be non violent? ??????
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 05:11 AM) Trump is making his cabinet choices like the Apprentice. He tweeted he is the only one who knows who the finalists are. That is encouraging. The guy with zero experience isn't seeking help. How does only him knowing the finalists mean he is not seeking help?
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) so he says I'm blinded by partisan bias... this guy brett a staunch conservative tells me I have bias from being able to comprehend the english language? wow it's going to be a long four years defending this clown. best of luck mate, you're going to need it. Not looking to defend him at all my friend.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 07:24 AM) http://www.cbsnews.com/news/another-republ...obamas-cabinet/ Brett, what concessions has Trump made so far? Obama had the biggest mandate in modern times, and picked Republicans like LaHood and Gates for his cabinet. PT Trump is trying to jam every possible right wing misfit in the last decade into those positions. Why would anyone be surprised by the reactions? I'm sorry, who is the official cabinet?

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) there you go brett, now that issue is put to rest. Just as I said.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) I wish Joe Walsh would have clarified if he meant actually protesting or not. It would settle this whole argument. Oh wait. He did. I think many on this board need to know what the phrase civil disobedience means and how in many instances that is NOT what is happening now.
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 02:42 PM) brett05 Joe Walsh meant violence with his tweet. The fact that you think otherwise shows you are blinded by your partisan bias. If god forbid, Bernie Sanders said that same s***, it would have meant violence. There is no way to spin that tweet. You are blinded by your partisan. If he meant violence there would have been much better choices, but hey it doesn't fit your narrative so you run with it.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) If he was making a metaphor about non-violent protest, then he probably should have omitted the instrument of violence. Probably should so folks as yourself would not be so confused.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) No, I didn't. I already know that Donald Trump will be an embarrassment. He is right now. I hope that it will be limited to him personally, and not damage our country. I sincerely hope he is able to do things that grow the economy, fight crime, and keep America safe. I do not want anyone's lives to be made worse simply so it can be used as ammunition against him in 2020. Maybe political discourse would be better off if people took some time to understand their political opponent's statements and positions, rather than misrepresent and demean them. You can deny it all you want but you absolutely wished ill will toward him. Take a page from Hillary and President Obama will ya?
-
QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) So, "grabbing my musket" means fighting for their beliefs in a productive manner, but protesting is not productive? Just trying to understand. Why is it ok for one group to not give up but the other HAS to give up? I understand that it's after the election, but Mr. Walsh said he was going to "grab his musket" if Trump lost. So, even the timing is the same. Yes it means to continue to fight for liberty thru political discourse. To not just sit idly by while the liberals destroy this nation. Protest is fine. Violence and ignorance is not.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) Stop wasting time and tell me what you think was hateful. Tell me why it's the reason our country is broken. You wished for our next President to be an embarrassment. You are wishing ill will upon him. That hatred is what is killing America. That is why we are broken. Folks just like you.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) I know what I posted. How is hoping the country succeeds hateful? Read your whole post. Do not selectively read it again.
-
QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) Sorry, I'll say it in different words. Mr. Walsh said he wouldn't accept it if Mrs. Clinton was elected THEN Mr. Walsh was calling out people for not accepting Mr. Trump being elected. Nothing to do with violence or guns or anything, but acceptance. He's being hypocritical. But thanks for being so literal. Joe was calling for people to keep fighting for their beliefs in a productive manner. To not turn tail and give up. *shaking my head*
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 10:47 AM) Wow. That totally went over your head. No it didn't.
-
QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) And then you have Joe Walsh, October 26th: "On November 8th, I'm voting for Trump. On November 9th, if Trump loses, I'm grabbing my musket. You in?" Yesterday: "These anti-Trump babies need to accept the election results and show respect." Yeah. Do you think Joe literally called for violence? And more so he choose to grab an out of date antique weapon to perform such violence? Come on now.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) What was the hatred? You're not making any sense. Please re-read your own post.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 08:59 AM) We're a broken nation because I hope we're successful even under a President I don't like? Please explain We're broken because of people like you you wish hatred.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 08:55 AM) It is just as frustrating to have spent a month on the "accepting the election" question, and then see articles about things like changing electoral votes even being a thing. People. All people, need to take a step back. Personally, I would love to see Trump keep the tone of his victory speech, and his post_Obama talks, and talk about how there is no place in this country for hate. While I didn't want him to win, he won, so now is the time to lead. The incidents of hate and violence happening from both sides need to stop. Completely agree
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 08:36 AM) I hope the country is successful and he is embarrassing only to himself. And this right here is the reason we are a broken nation.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 08:03 AM) From a philosophical perspective, I would be inclined to stick with what seems to be the general view: zygotes are not persons. I do accept the obvious: a zygote is alive (as is an amoeba or any cell in my body), a zygote has full human DNA (as does almost any cell in my body), and a zygote has the potential to be an important part of a causal chain that leads to a human being (as does any cell in my body that could be used in cloning). However, these qualities of a zygote do not seem to be sufficient to establish it as a person. After all, the relevant qualities of the zygote seem to be duplicated by some of the cells in our bodies and it would be absurd to regard each of us as a collective of persons. Philosophy has nothing to do with this discussion and I think you know that. We can agree to disagree tho on the original topic

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 07:12 AM) Wishing for him to fail is like hoping the plane crashes because you don't like the pilot. We all want to move forward and get to where we are going safely. Wow. Great post. We agree finally.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 07:06 AM) FWIW, I just posted this on Facebook. To my few Facebook friends who were for Donald Trump. I'd like to challenge you to share some positive stories about the coming Trump Presidency. The few Facebook friends of mine who were for Trump keep sharing snarky memes. During the election, everything was about how Hillary is a criminal. Now it's making fun of people who don't support Trump and making fun of protesters. I, personally, hope Trump does an amazing job. So, I challenge you who wish to Make America Great Again to swap from these types of posts to posts about policy and, if you can find them, positivity regarding a Donald Trump presidency. My first link would be to his latest tweet where he reverses course from condemning the protests and says "We will all come together and be proud!" That was a good message. Now, I think another great move for him would be to find a podium and denounce the Ku Kluk Klan victory parade happening in North Carolina today. Switch to positive! Same challenge for those that did not support President Elect Trump. As for the KKK, as President you can't comment after every single radical group. If he does for the KKK fine, if he doesn't, totally understandable.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) Im 100% fine with this way of thinking. And if ever science became so advanced that you could remove the cells at day 1 and save them, I would have a really hard time arguing that abortion should be legal. Because at that point giving away the cells would be akin to giving a child away for adoption. But as of today, that is not scientifically feasible. What science can do and not do at a given time does not invalidate the state.
