  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) We have been over reasonable positions. If you want to argue that at some point after pregnancy there is a moment where the cells become "human" and therefore should be protected, I 100% agree with that. But that is not the argument. He is saying all abortion is murder. And there is no way anyone can scientifically argue that at day 1 its the equivalent of a "human". You would have a point if you could point to a single instance where conception led to something else...cat, dog, unknown creature....anything but what I've said, a human being. It's always a human being at conception.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) Actually no. If you read you would see that a baby could survive with science (feeding tube, etc) so obviously they are "human". Nice try, keep them coming. I did misread. Can a 20 week old survive outside of the womb, yep. Again your definition is nonsense.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) Actually that is false. Can a 1 week fertilized egg survive outside of the womb? No. Can a 1 week fertilized egg survive with assistance from science outside of the womb? No. Can a human survive with assistance of science survive outside of the womb? Yes. If a human cannot survive with the assistance of science outside of the womb, what do we call them? Dead. By your definition we can kill babies until they can feed themselves. Nice!
  4. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:51 PM) Your inability to understand the pro-choice position(s) is not evidence against it. any evidence of my lack of understanding or just an attack on a poster?
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) Since when do laws have anything to do with science? Nice try, but you will never win this argument on scientific grounds. You want to argue "religion" and "morality" feel free. But again, those same people were the ones who said the Earth was the center of the Universe. The very people who made Da Vinci and Galileo have to hide their findings for fear of backlash. Earth now center of Universe, not a debate because Church told me so! WOOT WOOT CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE! Nothing to do with religion. You'll find no scientific evidence that the human life does not start at conception.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:48 PM) Stop hijacking this thread and go start another one if you want to talk about this issue. Read the first post of the thread again please.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:47 PM) Several high schools across the nation are holding walkouts because of Trump. As they age and get more experiencing they'll be less likely to be liberal.
  8. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:46 PM) One's views on abortion are ethical opinions, not statements of fact. It's not comparable to the shape of the Earth in any way. It's just as silly which is the valid comparison.
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) Youre right, it isnt a debate. Its not murder. In order for something to be murdered, it has to be alive. In order for something to be living it has to be capable of self sustaining. Is it "murder" when I get a haircut? Is it "murder" when someone has their tubes tied? Is it murder when someone has a vasectomy? It's alive and it's murder. Kill a pregnant woman in something like 38 states and it's a double homicide. But hey, keep trying to hide the murder.
  10. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) It's a debate. You just don't want to acknowledge it. No, it's about as much of a debate as flat earth is.
  11. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) He's trying to start an abortion debate. It's not a debate. It's murder and needs to end. Folks making themselves feel comfortable with murder by calling it women's health and the word abortion is abominable.
  12. I for one hope we stop murdering one million Americans each year. So far PEDT's SCJ nominations are just that.
  13. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:28 AM) Where have you been the past year and a half? Watching some take comments way out of context. And where have you been?
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:23 AM) Worst of all, we've completely legitimized trump's white nationalism and regular denigration of women and religious and ethnic minorities. I'm deeply ashamed of my country today. He's done no such thing.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:13 AM) Abortion rights will be gutted. You should not have the right to murder people.
  16. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:06 AM) Exactly, even with a majority Trump will not just breeze his way through legislation. I understand it sucks losing a game played every four years and for one day, but let's not pack our bags for Canada just yet. We'll get through it We all will. We survived the last 8 years we will survive the next 4
  17. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:01 AM) Florida and the Rust Belt (Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) were the only states that mattered in this election. How is the electoral college different than a popular vote then? In a true popular vote, a Republican vote in Manhattan matters the same as a Democrat vote in Alabama. More importantly, elections would swing on national issues rather than on regional issues. Again you can't do it. It's the United States, not the United State. That s is big and without it you are in a much worse spot.
  18. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 06:58 AM) I don't know brett but maybe he just felt like it was time to roll the dice with trump than to elect hillary. I'm not a racist. I don't see race really at all. I went with Trump because of the Supreme Court. I'll be happy to impeach Trump if things deserve it.
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 07:47 AM) Clinton won the popular vote. (dump)the electoral college forever. That would be a worse system. First off we are a united nation of states. Secondly if you go to popular vote you have only three or four areas of the nation determining everything (California, Florida, New York) which if you thought the limited campaign stops was bad, this would be way worse.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 06:49 AM) By electing a candidate so full of hate. So was Hillary. S0 was 95% of the posts the last 24 hours in this thread. Really we need to unify behind common issues and start getting over our hatred.
  21. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 12:55 AM) Take betting advice from brett05. Dude was consistent, stayed in the pocket when the oncoming rush was bearing down, and delivered the TD pass. Thanks, but it maters not. We need unity and healing
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) We may have to make brett05 and admin. No thanks. Let's just unify behind healing a broken nation.
  23. In reality not a single state result should be made public until Hawaii closes it's polls. It causes more harm than good by discouraging voters on the West.
  24. I'm voting after work and in favor of the IL amendment. When emergencies happen there are loads of places to get money from. Infrastructure money needs to stay right where it is.
  25. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:10 AM) I wonder what a new stadium in Naperville or in the Hoffman Estates area do to the fanbase. Off the top of my head there is no room for it in Naperville.
