Said at the start of the final 12 games that if this team could go 8-4 going into the ASG, they are 3 games away from that with 2 more vs the Yankees & 3 more against the Braves. Just win both series & they should be in good shape.

Some really s***ty contact tonight.
-
Why not bunt Eaton there? People always bash bunting but at least the runners would have gotten over & it would be tied up right now w/ an Abreu sac fly.
Seems like the majority of the time the Sox don't bunt in those situations, they don't get the runners over anyways.

Take a fastball down the middle of the plate, swing at a change up out of the zone.
-
Gibson is the typical pitcher the Sox struggle against. Solid change up & throws a lot out of the zone that hitters consistently chase.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 05:39 PM)Frazier needs the all star break to reset. He's hit HRs and drove in runs but he needs to start getting XBHs
About the only thing he's doing in terms of hitting is grabbing HRs. He needs to do more, period.

I really just don't like Todd Frazier all that much as a hitter.
-
Have a strong feeling that 1 run isn't going to win this game.
-
8-4 going into the ASB starting today would continue their step in the right direction. Getting 3 wins in a row to start off the stretch would be very ideal.
-
8-4 going into the ASB would be very solid. Would set them up to get Morneau back for the Anaheim series, Jackson back shortly after that & hopefully another bat & pen arm for the stretch. This team has shown, even when they are down, they are still going to hover right around .500 give or take 3-5 games. Goal from here on out should be to go 10 games over the rest of the way out & hope that's good enough for a playoff spot.
FWIW, I do think Cleveland wins the division & for whatever reason, I see KC falling off before Detroit.
-
Grab 8-4 in these next 12 before the ASB & they should be in solid shape. If they truly are going to go for it, Morneau & Jackson should be close to ready after the break. Add that in with another bat & a pen arm or two & they MAY be able to compete for a 2nd WC spot.

Pleasantly surprised.

Unless Frazier is hitting an HR, he's absolutely useless as a hitter. Yes, he has value as a defender but he's Adam Dunn 2.0 w/ more consistent power. Defend him if you will but that's where he's at.
-
Eaton just missed. Slightly under it.
-
Sounds like Putnam's injury is long-term. There is just no way in hell this team is going to be able to hang around until mid-late July.
-
I'm almost certain that I could strike out Todd Frazier right now. So damn predictable.
-
Another poorly called game so far. Eaton's was a strike, yet Melky's was a ball? It was the same pitch.
-
Not sure I've ever seen such a strong inning from Rodon. Quick, in the strike zone & confident.
-
Anyone else's audio awful right now for this telecast?
-
Purke on to end the game.
-
Bases loaded for the same 3 hitters... Again.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 02:38 PM)OMG, Purke and Ynoa are going to attempt to save it.
Have to get a run first.

Avila again! Even a DP gets a run home. Do it, Avi.

A win tonight & they should be in 2nd place.
