QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2015 -> 04:47 PM) Welcome to the real world. The Sox are more interested in protecting their product then they are with telegraphing every single move they make. Why in the world would they go to the media to tell them where they are looking to make a move? Why would you give that kind of power to the other 29 teams in MLB? You do the smart thing and don't say anything, it accomplishes everything you want and does not make your organization look classless. The when you want to make a move you make it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2015 -> 04:35 PM) If you read what Hahn said, he pretty clearly implied that what he is telling you and me through the press, isn't necessarily what he is telling the players and coaches in private. Pretty sure that's the definition of two-faced

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 14, 2015 -> 04:35 PM) You realize if Micah performed, this wouldn't even happen, right? They gave him a MLB tryout and guess what? He didn't make the cut and rightfully so. Naming someone the opening day starter is not mutually inclusive with a vote of confidence. Players know they have to perform because there are plenty of people waiting in the wings to take their place if they fall flat on their face. No idea where you have been but Rick Hahn gave Micah a vote of confidence on Tuesday

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 14, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) LOL cmon man. Think big picture and you'll feel better. This is how every job in the world that requires balls goes- all the training in the world can't prepare you for the real fire. Sure many jobs you can go to school and slide right in...but the man jobs...gotta jump in to see where you stand, then work on your shortcomings. Any job with balls is like this. I think the Sox did good in letting him find out he wasn't ready. Kind of like the Hawkins promotion. "Look kid, i know you've had success but it ain't gonna work against the best." I think the FO thought his offense was going to be better to overshadow the D. Didn't happen, no big deal, and thank GOD you aren't in charge. Just kidding ? I think you missed my point, the demotion was fine just not how they did it. You don't give a guy a vote of confidence and then before he plays another inning you demote him. That's not how you run any business. It creates a major distrust after the fact and might ha e some far lasting negative impacts around the clubhouse.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) I know this conversation has been had before and all, but THIS seems like a Kenny Williams move. Give a guy a vote of confidence one day, bench him the next, and send to to Charlotte the day after? Yeah, that doesn't sound like Rick Hahn at all. Regardless of who made the decision ( I believe it was KW) this move is about as two faced as it comes. To basically say they are gonna be patient with Micah bc he has been performing very well offensively and struggling a bit defensively but is the future of the team and then to turn around the next day and demote him is just wrong. I lost all respect for the front office with this move. Not the move itself but how they went about doing it.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 14, 2015 -> 03:58 PM) Micah's D was piss poor. He single handedly lost or a chance to remain competitive in a game as lost due to his poor D. He'll be a good player in time, but AAA is where he belongs for now. he has 2 errors. I'd say he is one of our best defensive playears and did far less to hurt the team then conor, eaton, abreu, or even Alexei has. He also has been a better hitter then, conor, alexei, and Eaton

I can see this move for defensive purposes but unless Sanchez has made huge strides since last year it will be a drop in batting average, OBP, baserunning, etc. This move to me makes absolutely no sense especially since this morning the Sox said they were gonna remain patient with Micah since he is the future for the sox

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 13, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) Francona put in Cody Allen and cost his pitcher a shot at history. This pitch count madness has gotten out of control. Just saw he was at 113 pitches. If I was him and as a fan I would have wanted him to just walk out there/do something to convince the manager that he was pitching that 9th inning no matter what. If he was at 125+ then I can see pulling him but no way you pull him at 113. Q looking good keep it going

Ha, there was that cookie fastball I had been saying would work bc 95% of the time (slight exaggeration) flowers calls for the HIGH fastball

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 13, 2015 -> 08:01 PM) I have no problem with Micah so far, but I think some more seasoning wouldn't hurt. Sanchez can also provide a better bat and defense at this time. Micah has proved thus far to be a better hitter in the majors then Sanchez as well as base stealing. So I am happy and thrilled I get to watch Micah almost everyday. His D does need some work but it's better then some of the other sox players. Sanchez should come up but as the utility man in place of Emilio. But it's probably more likely that the Sox are gonna continue to let him take in the minors and then trade him

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 12, 2015 -> 10:40 PM) Didn't McEwing wave Micah on? Not sure that's bad base-running. It looked like he was waving him on, if so that is on McEwen not Micah

That's how you beat the shift

Bad luck
-
I s ay chris sale comes back out to pitch the 9th inning.
-
I couldn't tell if avi was even call for it
-
Horrible play by alexei at least Abreu got him
-
That the way to do it just swing at balls. Come on have some patience up there. We can get to there bullpen hopefully next inning
-
I will respectively disagree, mostly bc of the wasted pitch that every team knows to take. Hell if you throw a fastball down the middle they will take it bc they all know that on an 0-2 count flowers calls for a pitch above your head
-
God I hate flowers so f***ing much, you don't throw three sliders in a row split by a wasted f***ing pitch high
