I know it sounds ridiculous when we're still in May, but tonight's game is a must-win IMO. Need to keep winning series, need to be beating up on the weaker teams, and we desperately need Sale to return to form. A win tonight helps towards all three of those goals.

 

If we keep f***ing around when we have a clear edge in the pitching matchup, then this season will fade away very quickly.

Any time Sale takes the mound, it hurts when the Sox lose. So win tonight.

 

They managed to go 4-2 last week, when they had to. This week is no different.

Chris Sale and Jeff the Shark were our two main pitching studs an hopefully bounce back quickly. They sure have struggled. We need better than our starters to give up five or more runs in five innings. Plus now I see some so called baseball experts predicting Jose Quintana as mid season trade bait. I think that must be a joke though. Let's strive mightily to win tonight.

We'll have to disagree here. I saw another sloppy defensive effort and poor starting pitching that was papered over by some offense. Even when the Sox hit, they don't play clean baseball. The error by Ramirez and the ball Micah couldn't get to are plays that absolutely need to be made.

 

Johnson is now at -.2 fWAR. He's in good company however, most of the team is in the negative. What a s*** show.

 

Eaton is showing signs but holy f*** somehow (and I believe based on the eye test) he's been worse than even Avi in the outfield. Hard to win many games when your CF and RF are sitting at a combined -8 runs below average 30 games into the season.

If you're looking for perfection you're not going to find it. The errors cost them, no doubt, yet they found a way to tie the game late and had it not been for a bad outing from a so-far reliable Duke, they may have pulled it out.

I'm looking for clean baseball. Haven't seen much this year. Letting a ball go through the wickets in the 1st inning isn't that.

I hate to make excuses but this whole season has been full of bad timing.

 

Sale getting hurt when he did, starting with the Royals, rainouts, then the Baltimore debacle and the bug that went around, etc. Now we have to bench LaRoche when he was really starting to see the ball well.

Our abysmal defense and base running hasn't helped either

If Eaton really did turn it around yesterday the whole team will turn with him.

Carlos Rodon will take another turn in the White Sox rotation Friday night in Oakland.

Rodon pitched well in his first major league start Saturday against the Reds, striking out eight batters and yielding only two runs over six innings. The 22-year-old left-hander should be in the White Sox rotation for good and is a must-own in all mixed fantasy leagues.
