I don't know why Orlando, but the Steve Stone twitter avatar cracks me up. Tempted to steal it. You are basically the official tweeter of soxtalk. Keep up the good work!
Thank you and feel free. Steve Stone is a jerk on Twitter but he spills a lot of the front office beans and occasionally, tweeters roast him back and it’s hilarious!

He actually did like a week ago but I think Jimmy or someone said that won’t happen

Rodon's problem has always been desire and work ethic. He lacked both. Now he finally realized this is his last chance at a big payday and I was told he actually put in a lot of work this off season to get his body in great shape and is finally prepared both physically and mentally for the season. I sure as hell wouldn't be the team to give him that payday but I think he's going to have a good season.
That’s encouraging to hear. Thanks for that info.

Lol did Nightengale think the Sox signed Colome? I would love if that actually happened.

Is he basically saying that they need a bat and a SP but they won’t get one? I don’t understand what he’s trying to convey.

Merkin tonight on the possibility of more moves.
“Every team -- every business -- has a budget, so you operate within or near that limit. With all that said, the White Sox could use another bat to help at designated hitter and another pitcher to give greater depth to the rotation, but the season has not started yet and there’s room to maneuver at the Trade Deadline.”

Not sad about missing out on Wainwright but I am sad because I feel like he was the only guy left that made sense. Looks like Lopez it is.

Cheesey at one time insinuated JR wanted Cruz really bad. Again, I have no doubt these guys have a source, and that source provides them a little info. The problem is, they are trying to be Ken Rosenthal with their twitter instead of some guys who get infrequent info.
I think the criticism of guys like Cheezy Beef and Portillo’s or Cishek is warranted but there is something off. Even guys on this board who are reputable have reported interest in Cruz and Wainwright etc. so something is weird. Either everyone was making stuff up or everyone got the same info. I think it’s all entertaining so I don’t mind it too much but I think I’ll only get my hopes up from now on when Steve Stone says something lol

I think the following are all quite likely:
- Sox didn’t save as much during the rebuild as you think due to awful attendance and sponsorships
- Sox lost a lot of money in 2020
- Jerry doesn’t think they will have fans this year
- He knows there will be a strike in 2021
I agree with all this.

Do we have any reason to believe it is Hahn spending the money and not TLR?
I mean, I’m going based on his track record. His signings the last few years have been putrid. If La Russa influenced Lynn, Eaton and Hendriks, that’s better than what Hahn usually puts up. Lol
-
I think that we should also put blame on Hahn. Jerry sucks but Hahn doesn’t know how to spend his limited resources the right way.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf ladies and gentlemen. Would rather save a rival owner some money than shut up and let them believe they are in.

I also think Jerry is ok with it for the most part, with exceptions being players he's actually interested in acquiring.
But isn’t he notorious for trying to suppress salaries?

I didn’t head Jon Heyman but did he actually report that the Sox were in? Or did he just say he fit well?
-
All this only makes sense if the Twins believe he’s toast.

Judging by Stone's reaction, I am not sure that one of substance actually exists.
Stone has been right more than he’s been wrong but if this was all a ploy to get the Twins to pay up, I can’t imagine the Sox would be happy with him for unequivocally denying it.

Let's think like Sox FO for a minute. How can I stretch my dollar the furthest in this market? Cruz for one year with a significant buyout of year 2 as to not block Vaughn? Go straight to Vaughn now (can't be worse than EE last year), get whatever is left on the $5-$6 million SP market, grab a backup catcher (Flowers) and call it good til the season? Isn't it basically those two? We aren't signing Bauer, Tanaka, Paxton, anyone who is seeing double digits for a contract
I'd be good with either of those options.

Not what I want but I see Jerry signing Wainwright and Brad Miller to round out FA😑
Yuck to Wainwright but I think Brad Miller would be good. This is actually more than I see them doing.

If the Twins don’t land him, where else can he possibly fit? My hopes are way too high for this to happen. I doubt it does.

🤔...definitely seems like agents baiting the Twins front office here.
Also, that’s the exact lineup I posted when this rumor first appeared. In the tiny chance we get him, is that pretty much the consensus on what the lineup should look like?
WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME HECTOR

Garbage dump pitchers I don't *like* like but like more than garbage
