  1. Cynicism is a tough bi**h to kill. All I am thinking about before the series is that I just hope they don't get swept. I have thought that before the Toronto series and the series in Minnesota. Even with all the reasons for optimism with this team I keep finding myself falling back on pessimism. I feel however a shift happening and after watching the 2 blown leads last night I found myself thinking "they still got this", and they proved me right. This team is changing me from a glass half empty guy to a glass half full guy and I love it! GO SOX!!
  2. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 08:22 AM) Would be nice to have caught them after they had 1 or 2 in the W column. I agree with this. With the historically bad luck the Sox have in Minnesota and the Twins itching to get a win along with the total lack of run support that Q gets every start this game seems set up for the Twins to win. I hope I am wrong.
  3. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) Caulfield, surely you don't think it's about entertainment value do you ? When the Sox lose it's all about the mood it puts the male Sox fan. Losing equals bad mood equals less helpful, less communication, less ... well you get the idea. I do get pretty cranky when the Sox lose especially when I am at a game, but my wife may get more cranky than me. Her and I were at our last game in our plan and the Sox were losing by 5 or 6 runs in the 5th when there was a single hit out to Avi and he bounced the throw to the cutoff. She went ape crazy. She told me on the way home that she refused to put out more money on that team. That team last year kept her in a foul mood. She is excited about the Jackson/Frazier/Lawrie signings which allowed me to get a 14 game plan this year. Hopefully this team will keep her in a better mood this year......
  4. First time poster. 40 year Sox fan. I like the way Hahn slow played the market. I believe that Jackson was his target all off season due to his lack of draft pick attachment. The whole idea then was to get him at the cost that the Sox were comfortable with. Hahn presented Boras and Jackson with a plan that would allow for Jackson to resurrect his career and go into the next offseason with a chance to get the big money and years. They gave Hahn a number that he was comfortable spending. This signing gets me excited. I believe they have a chance to compete very well in a very tight division. So much so that I will be picking up a 14 game plan for this year. I was just as excited last year though and signed up for a 7 game plan. They lost each game. My wife was upset that we spent that money on that team and refused to let me get another plan for this year unless they got a 3rd baseman and another outfielder. Done and done I told her last night! See ya all at the ball park!
