  1. If this continues for even just a few more weeks with no obvious path to a deal being made soon, I'll check out. I'm as die hard as any baseball fan, but if this is the kind of game they want to play, I want no part of it. There is plenty else I can spend my time and energy on. The DNR and lure making companies will get my money and I'll go fishing all summer. And the West Michigan White Caps are around if I need a baseball fix (single A club for the Tigers).
  2. Wonder why the rejection of robo umps. Maybe because they aren't perfected yet?
  3. The injuries this lockout might cause scares me...Vaughn might join TA as the secret backup catcher.
  4. He'll be fighting for that DH spot with Sheets
  5. Or maybe it's because he is 86 years old?
  6. I honestly wouldn't be against shortening the season, if we are going to have 14 playoff teams, and then extend the length of the playoff series so it would seem like whoever wins the series actually earned it. But I doubt the players would be for that as the less regular season games they play, the less everyone gets paid.
  7. MLB offers meal money and in return get no rule 5. Seems like a fair deal.
  8. It is most definitely real. I live about an hour north of Kzoo. A buddy of mine sent this story to me earlier today. Pure gold.
  9. Nope haha. Some Jay's originals lmao
  10. They don't hate me...it just shows how disconnected they are from frontline staff...(And I'm not even technically considered frontline)
  11. I could get behind this, but there's got to be something that can be done.
  12. Today is Employee Appreciation Day. Our directors handed out bags of chips to everybody saying we're all that and a bag of chips. I've never felt more appreciated.
  13. Every new stadium that's built should have a retractable roof to avoid weather delays. Baseball the only sport that has them (aside from maybe lightning and thunderstorms with soccer or football). Weather delays should be a thing of the past in the next 20-30 years imo.
  14. And yet, here we are
  15. I wonder if players would start demanding lockout clauses or cba clauses in their contracts. Something like "If your bitchass locks me out, my ass still gets my money"
  16. That is my optimistic prediction on when the season will start.
  17. Yeah, this lockout isn't ending anytime soon. We should be prepared for this thing to drag out even longer...
  18. That's fantastic.
  19. Exactly. No REAL negotiating is happening
  20. Nah, I refuse to believe any real negotiating is happening.
  21. How are you going to stand up there and laugh when you are announcing that games are cancelled?
  22. "We have a payroll disparity problem." Well guess what Rob, y'all are about to have a revenue problem with ZERO butts in seats and ZERO eyes on the tv watching your product.
  23. Manfred supposed to address media at 5:00. Here we go.
  24. So, when they cancel games, does that mean everyone else doesn't get paid? Coaches, training staff, stadium staff, t.v. analysts. What about those t.v deals with the RSNs who now have to fill their channels with some other content that won't get nearly as many viewers. Like...what happens with all this?
  25. It's going to take a long time for these two sides to come to an agreement with how far apart they are on big issues.
