Bobby Knight fan. I've always thought you don't have to be a jackass to succeed.

not to change the subject, but the bears are a bunch of stiffs too. so it's
not just the sox.

Bummer sucks dude. No matter how many other people say otherwise.
the one thing that makes me think we may regret this, is that the Braves hire and retain coaches based
on their ability to instruct. if we had traded Bummer to someone like us, i wouldn't worry about a
possible rebound. part of me wants Aaron to have a good year just to spite the Sox' good buddy
coaching staff of recent vintage.

How does the wrist explain his awful defense?
statistically speaking, AB was a league average RF last year .986 field % vs league .987. range factor 1.99,1.88 vs. league 1.92,1.89. his defense was average.
historically he has been a little above average. he was nowhere near awful. AV and GSheets were awful. when people over state facts they begin to lose
credibility. look for a small bounce bank this year. he is overpaid, but he didn't offer himself the contract. when you have a rotten organization, you have
to do some thing to attract employees.

I hope it's one of those chimpanzees that knows sign language. face it. if he's any good he'll leave in 2-3 years
if not before. don't wish for anybody too good.

if the twinkies lowered their payroll to 26million, we could probably break out the greatest line in dumb and dumber.
"so you're sayin' there's a chance?"

For those of you who think announcers aren't important, see, Caray, Harry.
he was at his best with the sox. "reinhorn" duo drove him into the cubs open arms.

I thought they were saying that long before this announcement?
The whole season all I read was fan’s apathy. The last two years actually.
I don’t think this is what broke the camel’s back.
the opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy.

Yes, and use some of that cash to sign a middle infielder or SP for 2-3 years. Someone who can hopefully contribute in 2025. No reason this team cannot legitimately compete in '25 if they spend wisely while ushering in the new crop (Montgomery, Ramos, etc.).
Agreed. sign the best almost good enough to start middle infielder to a 2-3 year deal. P.S. it's
not Elvis. EA really started to slip in the field the second half. Just about the time he started hitting above the Mendoza line.

How is that paid on potential???

Random question for those in the know.....how close is Nick Nastrini to being able to get a shot at the Palehose rotation?
I'm not in the know, but if NN doesn't get a shot this year, he never will. we really are that thin at SP.

.806 is his OPS not slugging but I'm sure his slugging was pretty good also. Plus I don't think you can say the Marlins were the ones who improved his hitting with 100% accuracy. Part of my arguments about the trade was that Burger takes the responsibility for his own career.
Also his hard hit rate was among the best in baseball . The fact that he was hitting in the low 200's didn't mesh with his hard hit rate. Usually the harder you hit the ball the better you BABIP is.
His showing as a hitter in Miami might have been some percent of changes he was already working on or things the Marlins told him and worked with him on. But with the Marlins he was good from the get go. That would make the Marlins coaches some kind of miracles workers to suggest something that Jake decided to use and to have to work right away. That's not usually how things work.
getting out of the south side probably helped a bit too. even guys with a good attitude get pulled down when surrounded by mopes.
