I dont want to speak for everyone else, but I think that people get excited when they see he posts that because he's showing how close him and Alonso are, not the fact that the 2 jerseys being next to each other means that he is choosing the White Sox.

When I’m on my phone, I see only ny name at the bottom. When I’m on a computer, I see all the users.

I don’t know what I was expecting Jay to say regarding Machado, I just hoped it would be a little more upbeat. Maybe going more of the Alonso route. By the way that Jay talked about Machado, I almost got the vibe that he was not trying to get fans hopes up. Maybe that’s just me. This whole process has been tiring and I’m grasping at just about anything.

I know he can’t say anything, but this answer doesn’t make me confident.

Even if the Sox fed Nightengale the number, that really won’t matter much in the long run. Let’s say that Nightengale tweets out the Sox offer is 7-year, $210 million. The Phillies will most likely just up that offer to 7-year, $230 million. Then the Sox will be forced to up their offer anyway. Sox and Phillies will get into a bidding war, and end up at that $270 million to $300 million number anyway. Regardless of how or where or why Nightengale got his information, I just dont see any scenario where Manny signs for anything less than a 7-year, $250 million deal (A little more than $35 million per year). So whether or not the Sox are trying to keep the Phillies offer low, I can almost guarantee the bids will reach that $250 million number at the very least.

For both reports to be true, the Yankees offer would have to be roughly 5-year, $160 million, then both the Sox and Phillies would have to be around 7-year, $210 million. But if that were the case, I would think a few more teams would be jumping in.

If the reports about the contract the Sox offered are true, I also agree that he is most likely to go to Philly.

All these reports that the White Sox and Phillies are the final 2. But with an offer off $200 million, there is no way the Yankees aren’t involved.

If this is true, no way we get Machado, unless the other offers are just not at all what they thought would be. Starting to think Machado to Philly...
