If it’s true that he goes to the highest bidder, I feel really solid about our chances. I’m guessing it would be between the Sox and a mystery team. Yankees most likely would be out, and I think the Phillies would be out because I think they get Harper and really will make a strong run at Harper. Padres are really a team that I would be afraid of if he goes to the highest bidder. Mets are also a team I would watch out for.

Did anyone else see on CBSSports.com, they used @Whitesox27‘s Twitter account to write a story about Manny potentially wearing a Sox hat.

So will today be the slow day, or do we get some big piece of news at like 3?

The only think that looks a little off to me is that if you zoom in on the patch, it looks like the blue part is on the top right corner, not the top left corner.

What we really need is a poster to take a similar picture. Backwards Sox hat, at a similar distance. See how the two logos would look next to each other.

I bet if enough people messaged Yonder Alonso’s wife asking if it’s a White Sox hat, and then we see that she deleted the picture, we could have our answer...

Zooming in on the hat again, could it possibly be a Sox hat with an American Flag patch on the side?

The more I look at it, the more it looks like a Sox hat. What would the patch be, though?

Do we think the Ottavino signing will impact the Yankees trying to sign Machado at all?

I don’t know if I missed it on here somehow, but I just got an At-Bat notification that the Phillies dream scenario is Harper and Trout. Does that mean they’re getting away from Machado...?

Things cooled down on here FAST. If today taught us anything, I think that this process is far from over.

I think so too if he’s getting a contract at $200 million or less.

I guess it all depends on what they get signed for. Apparently the offers for Machado aren't what people thought they would be, Harper will probably get around $300 million, and Kuechel will get around $80 million over 4 years I would assume. With early opt outs, I could very well see this being a possibility.

Scary thing is, the Phillies very well could pull that off.

What’re the odds that the “Johnny Hustle” comments have really hurt Machado during this process?

I don’t doubt that these are where the offers are, I just think if a lot of these teams are all around this same figure, then he’ll almost certainly sign with the Phillies or Yankees. That’s part of the reason the Sox need to offer more. Have to make up for the lack of winning, right now, with a bigger pay raise.
