How likely is it that Luis got taken out from the game because he was promoted to Birmingham?

If Madrigal can do what he’s doing now in the majors, then he will have been a fantastic pick. Whether you put him at the top of the lineup to lead off, or bat him 9th, there will always be room on a team for a guy that gats over .300 and plays great defense.

I guess my bigger overall point/question is does strikeout rate ultimately matter? Or is that statistic kind of irrelevant if you put up good average, OBP, OPS, etc...?

Random topic here, but what is considered a normal acceptable strikeout rate. Like, let’s say a player has a .315 batting average, .350 OBP and a .850 OPS. Would a 40% strikeout rate be acceptable if those other numbers were that high?

What an incredible start for Robert. Really starting to think he could just fly through the organization. I don’t want to rush him, but it seems like he has the potential to move through the system like Juan Soto did with the Nationals. I don’t know if it will happen that fast, but he has the potential and talent for sure.

I’m guessing that we’ll see Booker get promoted to Charlotte soon, and when that happens, we’ll see Robert get promoted to Birmingham. I’m not sure when it’s supposed to happened, but we should he expecting Basabe back soon. And when that happens, that is another outfielder in Birmingham.

For those of you that follow the draft more closely, who do we THINK the White Sox will take with their 1st pick?

Put me in the camp that loves what they see out of Madrigal. I believe the Sox drafted him to do exactly what he is doing. The extra base hits will come because he'll eventually start slapping the ball into the gaps, and his speed will get him to second easily. What he was drafted for is simply the ability to get on base, and the great defense. Maybe he wont be a 3-hole hitter, but they didn't draft him to be. Ideally, I would love to see Madrigal bat 9th when he gets to the show. Having a .300 hitter batting 9th in the lineup, and would be very beneficial for the second, third and fourth times through the lineup with guys like Robert, Moncada, Abreu and Jimenez batting after him.

I noticed at the game I was at that when gets on the base-paths, he seems to have a protective glove for his hand. But obviously that wouldn’t be relevant for when he hits a triple.
