Former college Quarterbacks

Featured Replies

I didn't realize (or just plain forgot) that Kevan Smith was a QB in college. That got me thinking about a few other collegiate signalcallers that went on to wear a White Sox uniform.

Joe Borchard - Stanford

Josh Fields - Oklahoma State

Clayton Richard - Michigan

Scott Carroll - Purdue/Missouri State

Kevan Smith - Pitt

Any others?

Adam Dunn - Texas (he was 2nd String QB)

If you want to count minor leaguers in the White Sox organization:

Bobby Douglass - Kansas (another Bill Veeck publicity stunt, pitched for Iowa Oaks)

Mitch Mustain - Arkansas / USC (played for Bristol White Sox and Kannapolis Intimidators)

Billy Joe Hobert - Washington (played for Gulf Coast League White Sox)

Former Charlotte Knight Matt Tuiasosopo was a High School All American QB, but did not play football in college.

I heard Bill Melton played football at Citrus College and USC, but I don't know the position.

darin erstad

Erstad was a kicker/punter.

i knew he was the punter, but i also thought he was a backup qb....not sure why i thought that but in googling it - i cant seem to find it

I assume we'll end up with Tim Tebow at some point. Toolsy outfielder.

The Milkman was a QB at Florida before Spurrier got there.
