I want to say hooray for the win today. There won't be many and the loses will outnumber the W's , so forgive me if I am troubling you.

The Sox scored six (6) runs today... the same number of hits they had in game 1 and game 2 combined.

Lets just enjoy the ride right now of excellent pitching from starters and the pen. We know they cant keep it up. But you never know, lets look at each of them.

Miguel Gonzalez, over his last 16 starts only 1x has he let up more than 3 earned runs in a game and it was only 4 runs. Gonzo has only had 1 bad year in his career and he is only 32 years old. If he keeps it up he is a nice rental of a veteran and could return a decent prospect. I think he will.

James Shields- has been a solid pitcher over his career. The only reason he could possibly keep up a solid year is that he learned a lot from last year, he doesnt have the velocity anymore so maybe he learned how to pitch a little better. Lets be honest he will most likely end up with a 4.50 ERA and wont return anything

Derek Holland-Pitching way above his head now. Maybe Cooper will work magic with him. Prior to injury issues a couple years ago he had a strong year and then the beginning of 2014 he was dominant the first 6 games before the injury derailed his season. He never seemed to bounce back. Maybe he is healthy now. Best case is he has a mid 3 ERA and we can flip him like Gonzo and bring up the young guys from Charlotte.

The bullpen looks great, they cant keep it up but you never know. Petricka, Putnam, Jennings and Jones have all been solid in their careers. The wild card is Kahnle. He has always had a high K rate but so far this year his control is much better so maybe he has turned the corner. Swarzak is doing well but doubt he keeps up the solid pitching as he has never had a solid full year and will most likely end up with a high 4 ERA.

Pitching not sustainable...but also a sub .210 team batting average isn't sustainable either, so lets just cling to whatever meaningful baseball we have left and enjoy each game.

Yeah, let's hope if we don't trade Q that Rodon comes back looking like a TOR starter, Anderson doesn't have the typical sophomore slump and that Robertson (maybe Jones), Cabrera, Frazier (looking like a long shot, but who knows, the Mets definitely need a 3B) and Holland/Shields/Gonzalez can be traded for something worthwhile.

Also, it seems that Saladino's swing has really gotten long again...before, he was really short and quick, didn't miss too many fastballs. Guess it was too much to expect him to be a 3 war player, but the season has a LONG way to go, and he still hasn't proven he can even stay 100% healthy for one full year.
