If you've got your division wrapped up for the most part and just need a guy to eat innings so your top arms are fresh for the playoffs then Holland is OK. I think we'll be surprised with what they get in return.

 

Surprised in a positive or negative way? If we get anything with a pulse, I'll be happy. Holland is the kind of guy as you said could be used as a 4-5 innings eater for meaningless late season games or a swing man on contenders. For that we may get a deep deep deep lottery ticket/young guy w perhaps one above average tool or an older AAAA type that will compete w the Danny Hayes of the world...hoping he turns into Ross Gload. And that's fine.

Maybe they're viewing him as a LOOGY similar to how Liriano was getting interest and consideration so far.

Could be useful for a team that wants another lefty in the pen. Always nice to have a guy in the playoffs that can go several innings rather than burning your top pen arms
