August 11, 20178 yr QUOTE (steveno89 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:47 AM) I agree Fulmer was rushed, but I also feel that other pitching prospects in the system have overtaken him and are more likely to pan out as starting pitchers at this point (Giolito, Lopez, Hansen, Dunning, Adams, Guerrero, Stephens). This is true, but it doesn't mean you pull the plug on Fulmer either.
August 11, 20178 yr Fulmer needs to get his arm back. I wouldn't be so worried about the results if his stuff was still there but it's not. If that stuff doesn't come back then he's just not a quality prospect.
August 11, 20178 yr Guerrero and Adams rebounded very well after a lack luster 2016 season so maybe Fulmer can do the same next year. Fulmer should continue to start until he earns a call up or the Sox rotation fills out with the likes of Rodon, Lopez, Kopech, Hansen, Dunning, at which point Fulmer can then be converted to a reliever. I think Fulmer has the repertoire and mental makeup to be an electric Closer if things don't work out for him as a starter.
