Texsox
The mold issue is huge here in Texas. Insurance companies and attorneys have been battling it out. I know of three people who received checks for the full value of their homes because of mold damage. Some insurance companies have refused to write policies in Texas because of it. People have been moved out of their homes for months while the remiediators come in a rebuilt the walls, etc.
TLAK
Texsox Posted on Oct 3 2003, 05:01 PM The mold issue is huge here in Texas. Is this a new issue? I don't think the climate has changed over the last 1000 years or so. What did the old timers used to do about it?

I don't think the climate has changed over the last 1000 years or so. What did the old timers used to do about it? One possibility is the tightly built homes trapping in moisture. 100 years ago we didn't have air conditioning. Also indoor plumbing that drips, sweats, and leaks is a culprit as well. What happens is people begin it wheeze and sneeze and start looking into the walls and it becomes a problem. So the other issue could be a hightened sensitivity to mold.
