Definitely memorable, but not even the greatest bench-clearing brawl involving the White Sox,

Ventura is one of my all time favorite players and I think it’s ballsy as hell he went after a legend like that, but good god how did he get his ass handed to him so badly?

Nolan Ryan is a bad ass.  The dude is a longhorn steer rancher in his free time.  He has dealt with much bigger and angrier than Robin Ventura.

I believe I've heard Robin say that when you can see him slow up half way to the mound he realized what he was doing and there was an "oh no" moment.

I am going to guess I could drag a 71 year old Nolan Ryan out of retirement and know 2 things. He'd still throw 90, and he'd still beat the ass of anyone who crossed him.

He still does all sorts of TV spots down here. He's hawking air conditioners and Kroger carries his line of Nolan Ryan beef. The ballparks even use that brand name in their burgers.

I can't wear a White Sox hat in this town without some jerk in a Rangers hat bringing that up.
