Castillo rehabbing in Charlotte

With the cash they saved from his suspension, probably around $4M, I’d buy him out and go after someone else.

Pretty sure they still pay, but the money goes to a special fund with mlb.

They should start giving Narvaez some reps at 1B with Jose out once the rosters expand in a week.  Wouldn't hurt to have that flexibility next season.

I struggle with trying to improve his defensive versatility vs saying spend all his efforts on improving his catching defense.  Off season I could see a little cross training.  His bat works as a catcher but is less special as a 1B.

If someone used to use PEDS and quit does the supposed physical benefits continue after ending PED use? Just asking for a friend. I am sure Castillo is not in the Sox long term plans but Barvaez is a terrible backstop. Catching will be an interesting  position to fill

Let Zavala, Smith, and Narvaez battle it out in Spring Training. Collins was drafted in 2016 out of college. He should be ready to go by 2020.
