FutureSox Podcast - featuring Dylan Cease & Gavin Sheets

Featured Replies

After a couple months off, the FutureSox podcast machine is coming back to life. In this episode, our host Clint Cole interviews Dylan Cease and Gavin Sheets, getting into some great conversation about their 2018's and where things are headed in 2019. All the links, info and content are right here. Enjoy, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Clint already has 4-5 more players lined up for offseason interviews, and we've got more coming.

Great job Clint!  And I appreciate you asking Gavin about the lack of power despite it probably being a bit of an uncomfortable ask.

Thank you all for your tireless work @Future Sox !?

Yes. Go to futuresox.podomatic.com, and download as many episodes as you'd like! You can subscribe there too.

Nice,  thanks

Gavin was a fantastic panel participant at soxfest last year. Very skeptical he can make his bat work, but seems like a great guy and I hope he comes back with a vengeance.

He’s got the raw power and pretty good plate discipline.  He’s really the perfect test case for our organization’s ability to adjust players’ launch angles and do so in a productive manner.  I’m skeptical since I don’t recall many examples of us doing so in the past, but the player and development staff are both aware of the issue and have an entire offseason to work through it.

If he can tap into his raw power he probably becomes one of the top 1b prospects in baseball. But if he doesn't he will probably never see the bigs. There are really 2 outcomes here. He clearly has the power... we will see if he can use it in games.
