Chisoxfn
If the Cubs did choke, it would be one of the most delicious things to happen in the history of deliciousness. It would be more deliciouser than any delicious food I have ever had. That being said, I take the Cubs in six. No way the Fish beat Prior AND Wood. Messiah Prior will deliver the Cubs. Look for at least one dolt to write it that way in the Game 6 postgame wrapup, too. While its very unlikely for the Marlins to beat Prior and Wood, just think about how likely it is to go 95 years or however the heck long they've went without a world series. You could insert us in here too.
Pastime
I think Sammy is "gun shy" and overreacted. A high inside pitch makes him revert back to the memory of having his overinflated head bonked - being beaned in the head twice this year has him overly sensitive and defensive. OR, maybe he's having the anger side effect you get when you stick a needle full of 'roids in your ass for a decade.

YASNY
The Marlins backs are definitely against a wall, but they were for game 5 also. Until the Cubs actually get that last out to win that one more game, there is always a chance. Rememebr Leon Durham in '84 and Billy Buckner in the '86 Series. The '84 Cubs were within a game of the Series with 3 to play. Same scenario we saw prior to Game 5. They failed then, evn though they had '84 Cy Young winner Sytcliffe on the mound for the last game. They can fail again. Baseball is a funny game.
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
Nobody wants the Cubs to lose more than me, but I was almost wishing for the series to end in Florida, to deny the Cub fans the celebration in Wrigley Field. Dear God: Whatever you want forever. Just give me two more Marlin wins this season. Very Truly Yours, ALG

cwsox
Sad thing is this series is over. There is absolutely no way that the Marlins beat both Prior and Wood. since someone else brought this thread back up... never say never! I said it would be sweet and it is - as good as it can be in a series not involving the Sox! :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs and Prior and Wood -
