Brad Fullmer Released

The Angels have made it pretty much official. Fullmer will not be back next year.

I'd consider Fullmer a legit option if Konerko/Thomas are gone.

Last season Fullmer got hurt on June 28, but befor that he was hitting .306 with 9 HR and 35 RBI.

His career ops is better then Konerko's too and best of all he can be had right around a mill, which is what he got last year. And in all honesty, I could see him getting even less since he's coming back from an injury.

And at 28 he has plenty of baseball left, plus he would add a left handed bat to the Sox lineup. Fullmer also draws a ton of walks, he had 26 of them before getting injured while striking out 31 times. Works out to a .387 OBP

I would love to see him in a White Sox uniform next year, and I'd love it if the Sox could unload Konerko and go to him. What an absolute bargain.

Seriously if we can deal Konerko and if we don't re-sign Thomas I like the idea of Fullmer playing first base.

I don't see him as being that much better than Brian Daubach, but hey, what do I know?

I'd like to get him too, and I think he's a much better option than Daubach.

Yeah, Daubach wasn't exactly what I expected this year. Then again, he didn't play a ton.

Fullmer had an outstanding year in 2000 with Toronto with over 30 HR and 100 RBI. Besides that, he's pretty much the same player in my mind as Dauber is, just younger.

If we can get rid of Konerko and Thomas, we have nothing to lose. Especially if we don't resign Carl Everett. I would like to see Daubach get alot more playing time if we bring him back.

I think the one difference is that Fullmer has always been a starter. Daubach never really had been over full seasons. The production of Fullmer is pretty much .285, 25 HR, 70 RBI or so (Depends on the team) and a .355 or so OBP

Those are very solid numbers and are superior to Daubach, whom I also like and would like to see back. While it would be a huge downgrade on paper to see Thomas/Konerko turned into Daubach/Fullmer it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

Mainly because that would give the Sox the flexibility to add a ss and 2nd baseman to give us a 1-2 punch and then you deal Maggs for the ability to sign Colon. Maggs gets you a starting outfielder thats good, most likely a right handed bat and a pitching prospect or two. Then the Sox use the rest of their money to shore up the bullpen and sign a guy cheap to compete for the 5th spot.

Hes further down on my priority list but would definately be a nice player to have. Fullmer plays the game the right way and took a big salary cut to stay with the angels this year. He aint gonna be a superstar but will contribute from the 5 spot.

SS and 2B are much bigger concerns.

he's better than Daubach, for vheap a good pick up, otherwise zzzzzzzz.

Certainly not the first thing we should be worrying bout, but if we can unload Paulie's contract and if Daubach ain't comin back, he's an option. But I'd prefer Spiezio instead.
