When Healthy . . .

Featured Replies

From time to time I've looked at players with piles of glittery stats and dismissed them by claiming they were really just average but benefited from playing a long time.

I've changed my opinion. Staying healthy and playing a couple decades in MLB is a great accomplishment and those players should be given more respect, even HoF worthy respect.

Probably a better off-season topic but I always enjoy a good "compiler" vs "peak" debate. I agree that staying healthy and playing 15 years is a great accomplishment, don't think it's HOF worthy without a top 5 or so player in the game period for at least a few years.

I've wondered a lot if the crackdown on PEDs has led to the injury prone state of baseball that exists today opposed to what things  were like 10 to 15 years ago.

PEDs lead to more injuries. Not less.
