Halladay

Featured Replies

Not surprised, but I am disappointed. I also found it interesting that Pedro gets 500K for coming in third whereas Halladay receives 100K for coming in first and Esteban gets 90K for coming in second.

I merged the two separate threads on the same subject - hope that is ok, I saw no reason for 2 competing threads on the same thing

I am glad ELo got 2nd :headbang :headbang :headbang :headbang

I was going to use your thread first but the sexy dancing babe in DK's avatar checked your Hawks hockey player over the boards and into the crowd and then unimpeded she scored the goal

Since the team doesn't share their profits with me, I really don't care how little E-Lo earned last year. He kept us as close as we got. If Mark or Bart had gotten of to a better start we would have seen post season play.

ESPN and their East Coast bias strikes again. Not surprised in the least bit. Idiots. :fyou

This has nothing to do with East Coast bias. IIRC, Halladay won more games then Elo, and did more in September then Elo did. Halladay also threw the first 10-inning shutout in a long time. It is not everyday that you see a 10-inning shutout.

He had more complete games, he threw more innings, and he was flat out a better pitcher.

Now had Pedro finished 2nd and Elo 3rd, then I would be pissed.

Nonetheless, congrats on a great season Elo! Do it again next year! :cheers

I guess who he pitched AGAINST in terms of intra-division, namely NY and Boston, played some role in the overall scheme.

Just a thought.

Halladay did deserve to win this award. Loaiza was great, and you can certainly make a case for him, but when you take your pro-Sox bias and put it aside, then the nod really should have gone to Halladay. IMHO

Agreed YASNY, but its not too often in todays era of American League baseball that you see a pitcher not named Pedro with a sub-3.00 ERA. Great season ELoz, lets see ya do it again in 2004 :cheers

We're going to need 18 wins from E-Lo next season to stay near .500.

With Garland, Schoenweiss, and Rauch as our 3-5 starters, we may need more.

We just can't afford any good pitchers. We're too POOR. :bang
