Romero received the second-largest bonus in Chicago's 2026 international class, signing for $1.5 million out of Venezuela in January. He's a more advanced hitter than most 17-year-olds, and his tools are roughly comparable to those of Jaden Fauske, who landed an above-slot $2,997,500 bonus as second-rounder last July. He'll likely spend his first pro season in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League.

I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher have a season like Christian Oppor. The fact that the White Sox still trot him out there instead of just shutting him down is amazing.
