In short, eliminate divisions. They’re unneeded.

Divisions build rivalries. They make the regular season for entertaining. Keep them.

They play games all year to determine who is the champion. We could just start eliminating teams at any point and call the final two teams standing the "playoffs". It's just a label.

As for a balanced schedule, it would be torturous to me on the east coast to have the Sox playing a bunch more games in the pacific time zone. It would kill the TV ratings for any east coast team.
