Some Minor Signings

Featured Replies

Okay, I know I need to get over it, but I sure wish we could have gotten Robin back. I'd love for him to end his career with the Sox. That's all.

he would have to back up creede:)

Brian Cooper - S - San Francisco Giants  Dec 6

Giants signed RHP Brian Cooper to a minor league contract.
Cooper went 15-9 with a 3.68 ERA for Triple-A Charlotte last season. The former Angel and Blue Jay isn't anything more than a Triple-A pitcher, but he should help Fresno.

Looks like we lost Coop.

No loss there. The guy was never going to pitch for us anyway.

If he's fine with that, I'm fine with that. I just never got over losing him. Sniff. ;)

Where does the idea come from that the Sox could get Guardado?

I thought the Twins offered him arbitration to give them more time to sign him.

And considering that Marte is the bullpen guy we're banking on, why would we want TWO left-handed closers. Wouldn't we be better off with a stud right hander?

With Sully walking, I'd guess the rumors about Roberto Hernandez returning as a right-handed set-up man are true.

I'd also guess that Danny Wright is headed for the pen.

So the bullpen shapes up this way

RPP: Koch, Hernandez, Ginter, Wright.

LRP: Marte, Wunsch, Sanders, Munoz.

The Twins do have more time to sign him, but they do not have exclusive negotiating rights if he turns arbitration down.

I doubt we sign Guardado though. I think he'll stick with da Twinkies or ship out to Boston if Foulke resigns with the A's. Seattle is also very high on Everyday Eddie to replace Arthur Rhodes. U know, Troy Percival could be a guy on da block, and not many ppl hav talked bout him. He could be an option too, but he's makin sumthin like 7.5 million in 2004.
