December 17, 200322 yr Top 50 In my mind Tupac is a sure fire #1 choice. The closest thing to a modern day Martin Luther King Jr. Tupac has only become bigger since he was murdered. Tupac helped bring the new sound of west coast rap into the suburban household. Run DMC may have been one of the originals, but in terms of accomplishment the nod goes to Pac IMO. One of the most troubling things about these rankings is that 2 Live Crew did not make it, despite being very popular, and winning one of the bigger court cases in music industry history. Banned in the USA alone should get them onto this list. Another shocker is that the Beastie Boys beat out NWA.
December 17, 200322 yr this poll is f***ed 1. RunDMC 2. Eminem 3. Tupac then all the rest except I would have Sugarhill Gang much higher and 2LiveCrew belongs on there as 1549 said
December 17, 200322 yr My main problem with the poll would be that IMO alot of the older artists, Kurtis Blow, Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, really werent given as much relevance in it because they are not in most peoples recent memory. Eve?? Ja Rule?? Queen Latifah??? C'mon now, people.
December 17, 200322 yr are you infering that ja rule isnt one of the most talented artists on the planet??!?!?
