Message Boards

Featured Replies

Dunno if anybody saw the story, but the AP reported today that at 430 or so this morning Boston owner John Henry logged onto the most popular Red Sox message board -- SonofSamHorn.com -- and asked fans not to give up on the ARod/Manny trade.

AP said it truly was him.

it's also the same board that Schilling admitted that he chatted on for several hours before he decided to go to Boston.

I know Bajenaru and Cotts have been on this board.

Anybody know if any big-shot members of Planet White Sox make the rounds the way folks apparently do in Bean Town?

Can't imagine JR loggin on and checkin in.

I have seen posts from Curt on that board....

If Jerry reads these boards

:fyou

I don't think any of us know specific players/White Sox personell, but I do believe that there are at least a few that read this site as well as others. Now if they post or not, I wouldnt' have a clue.

Bajenaru, Cotts, and Bullard are the only players I know of that post here...but that doesn't mean they are the only ones that read it.

just wondering.

I was pretty amazed that a Boston owner would post.

But also impressed.

Showed the guy is in tune with modern communication and sees the value of taking a second to make contact with his customers -- something I can't imagine JR ever doing.

But that's just me.

I can't say that JR or KW are spending any of thier time durfing internet message boards. But, I guarantee they have someone who is monitoring the pulse of the fans. The White Sox sucess is derectly tied to thier attendence and fan support. It would be stupid of them not to utilize the instant feedback that interet message boards provide.

i hope you're right.

and if they are monitoring, they should know that a lot of folks really like Ordonez, appreciate the fact that he played hard and sometimes hurt for six seasons and that they'd better not deal him for scraps, which is what we'd be left with if we send Nomar on to L.A.

A major Maggs' fan

Here is the link. He most recently posted tonight at 6;22 eastern. Not encouraging after the players union got involved. What a kool damn owner. THis is a guy that reaches to fans.

These are the little things that can really lead to fan support and all that. Look at what Cuban has done in Dallas. The Mavs weren't on the map until he showed up.

Thanks quickman ---

Seeing that site made me really appreciate the quality of this site...

He really didn't post anything significant, but it's cool none-the-less
