Is anybody still for keeping Nomar?

Featured Replies

Although the initial responses on this site were entirely for keeping Nomar, it sounds like the great majority of people now want to keep Maggs or have an immediate trade for Nomar already done for pitching. It's great to see everybody has come to their senses.

Can anybody find a newspaper article/pundit who thinks keeping Nomar is a good idea? Kenny, are you reading the posts here or the newspapers?

How can the Red Sox get our best player for Nomar and Williamson and we get Perez and Mota for him? :sosasucks

the way it looks now, nothing is gonna happen.

weather nomar ends up here or elsewhere, I cant see him going back to boston, unless they appologize by giving him his 4yr 60mil deal.

While I'd love to see Nomar in a White Sox uni, I know we're not going to sign him. And we're not going to be able to sign Maggs either. That being said, we need to get something for either of them. We can't keep Maggs and let him walk at the end of next year, and we can't trade him for someone that's going to be here for only 1 year. So it comes down to Nomar or some pretty darn good pitching from LA. It's not a bad problem to have.

Im for keeping him, but I said in other thread, by trading him to LA, we become the Dodogers, and good staff, but no run support now. Where are we going to get those 100 RBI's that Maggs has given us the last 4,5 years. Miguel Olivo?

Sounds like Juan Gonzalez.

No No and No :nono

That is exactly how I feel. I absolutely dispise Juan and everything he stands for. I would have much rather see Borch or Reed in the OF than that stroke.

Does Juan Gonzalez stand for anything other than Juan Gonzalez?

Does Juan Gonzalez stand for anything other than Juan Gonzalez?

Exactly. Even to the detriment of his teams and teammates, he only cares about himself. Mr Don't pick me for the all star team if I won't start, and $140 million isn't enough, and oh my ouchie hurts, and eewww Kansas City, I don't want to play there... Screw him.

im going to say yes I would like the Sox to keep Nomar and here's why.

Do we want to win the division next yr or are we "rebuilding" until 2005. If we want to win in 2004 then put Nomar at SS and trade Valentin.

Pitching wise we would have a rotation of

#1. Buehrle

#2. Loaiza

#3. Garland

#4. Schoenweis

#5. Kim/Wright/Rauch (If there still here)

Even better trade Valentin for pitching. Would Seattle do a Valentin for Garcia deal?

Then for 2005, we wont have Maggs contract, Valentin's contract or Frank's contract. That's the time for re-building.

Lets win in 2004. Maggs for Nomar is a fair deal. Can then use the extra bullpen help.
