Jagr used an illegal stick today...

This is all I have right now, a little clip from Yahoo...

"The Oilers gambled after a cross-checking penalty on Halpern 2:30 into the third period, asking for a measurement on one of Jaromir Jagr's sticks. The stick was deemed illegal, but Edmonton failed to score on a two-minute, two-manadvantage."

Nothing to say but lmao.

Was there CORK in it??

When asked to comment, ShamME Sofa was quoted as saying, "Ay hope Jogger no yooz cork een heez steek - dot eez MYE geemeeck!!"

I know this sounds bad, but in hockey this happens decently often. An illegal stick is one that has too much curve on it. Goal scorers use these to get more movement on their shot.

And to underscore that it isn't a big deal, all it means it Jagr got a two minute penalty. The reason that you don't see more illegal stick calls, is because the opposing teams bench has to call for a measurement. And if the opposing team in wrong in thinking someone has an illegal stick, they get a two minute penalty for delay of game.

Exactly. IIRC, that happened in a playoff (maybe a finals?) game when a measurement was called on Hasek.

ON a side note I have the Magic stick

and it's probably got an illegal curve, but no one wants to measure it!

The famous one in recent memory was Jaques Demers, Coach of the Habs calling for a measurement of McSorley's stick in the Cup final down 1 goal late in the game getting a powerplay and the rest is as they say history.
