January 14, 200422 yr If you believe a story in today's Houston Chronicle, more doors are closing on KW. It sez that the Dodgers are now looking to add Richard Hildalgo from Houston for their extra bat. And Houston is anxious to dump his contract. If LA gets Hildalgo, you have to wonder how much interest they would continue to have in either A) Maggs or B) PK.
January 14, 200422 yr I'd say none, if they grab Hidalgo. He's a good offensive player - I'm kind of surprised that Houston is that eager to get rid of him. Must be purely a money issue.
January 14, 200422 yr Hidalgo at $12 mil or Maggs at $14 mil who would you rather have? KW must be asking a lot because I know I would take Maggs for sure.
January 14, 200422 yr Author No contest between Maggs and Hildalgo. better numbers for maggs and Hildalgo sure looks like a guy who has a tendency to put on weight. But considering the background between KW and Dodgers' GM Danny Evans, I had a tough time seeing Evans doing a deal with the potential to make the Sox look good.

But considering the background between KW and Dodgers' GM Danny Evans, I had a tough time seeing Evans doing a deal with the potential to make the Sox look good. If Evans is concerned with a deal "making the Sox look good" then he needs to be in another line of work. He should only be concerned with how any deals affect the Dodgers.
January 15, 200422 yr Dodgers aren't goin to pay Hildalgo $12 mil to play for em this year. I'm sure I read sum article a few weeks ago that Houston would pay bout $8 mil of Hildalgo's contract to get rid of him if they could both get Clemens and Pettite. Plus, I wouldn't think LA wouldn't hav to trade much for him. I can really see this deal happenin.
